Expanded Great People Names Redux

Through some research, I have come to a reasonable conclusion that Sid Meier is an American citizen by marriage:

http://www.linkedin.com/pub/susansellersbrookins-meier/6/11a/780
http://www.mobygames.com/developer/sheet/view/developerId,14290/

According to mobygames, Mrs. Meier had a 19 year stint in the US Navy,
as well as holding the distinction of being part of the original 13 Firaxis staff members.

It is to be noted that she is not to be confused with Susan Meier, the romance novelist,
of whom is erroneously listed as Sid Meier's spouse in some sources,
or at least what it says when you look her up on Google.

Any objections?

I don't think citizenship should be absolutely necessary anyway.

I'm wondering why can't I give stability to ai anymore...I always did by pressing Ctrl+shift+s, but it's not working anymore.

Anyway that has nothing to do with the great generals thing, but I think I don't remember anymore how to give stability or it's just not working...damn it nothing is more frustrating than seeing a powerfull empire such as France collapses.

Was able to squeeze in some research. Posted for peer review:

German Scientists:

Johannes Kepler
Gottfried Wilhelm von Leibniz
Ernst Haeckel
Adolf Bastian
Max Born
Fritz Haber
Johann Carl Friedrich Gauss
Friedrich Leopold August Weismann
Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen
Hermann Julius Oberth
Sigmund Freud
Max Karl Ernst Ludwig Planck
Albert Enstein
Werner Heisenberg

I liked the expanded great generals names, but I have to say it's missing Hindenburg and Ludendorff, I think they both need to be included.
Thank you very much anyway. :)

Hindenburg has a somewhat questionable career but Ludendorff is definitely underrated.
I will most likely consider him a spot when I can next compile an update.

The next update will be focused on:
-The Germans
-making the French uniform
-small corrections here and there

The thing isn't really how good they were, but the fact that they are certanly iconic, and I admit it's the first time I hear someone questioning Hindenburg's career...but I don't want to argue here, I just think they deserve a spot simply because of their simbolic value...

^See the previous thread started by iOnlySignIn and the debate on the Chinese GGs.

Guan Yu was excluded specifically for that reason.
How much of an icon someone is doesn't matter if their actual career doesn't hold up.

Of course that matters, we're talking about a game where you see leaders, who some might argue weren't really effective, but are iconic so they have their importance (Elizabeth I), even more so because it's a game, can you imagine a game about england's history where Elizabeth I isn't portrayed? I think I had enough of this I won't participate anymore in the forum. Hindenburg and Ludendorff were responsible for the greatest single victory achieved in the entire first world war (Tannenberg of course...) and you say their careers doesn't hold up? They were national heroes in Germany (specially Hindenburg)...and again you say they don't deserve a spot?
Sincerely I've had enough of this...I won't waste my time with kids anymore... go writte your own version of history...

^A bit of an overreaction?

I won't stop you from going but I find it a perplexing course of action to take considered I've done nothing and said nothing to warrant such an extreme.

As I said, I did say I was interested in including Ludendorff. I find his personal ability successfully fulfills my criteria. In fact, I said he was underrated, which is a compliment.
I never said his career didn't hold up. Only with Hindenburg.

I'd like for you to point out with your own two eyes where it was exactly that I said Ludendorff wasn't worth his salt.

Yes it was an overreaction, but mostly because I'm tired of people being arrogant in their opinions and forgeting that it's a game and national simbolic value must be taken into account...it's very easy to simply judge people so long after they're gone...Hindenburg was a hero and this is an undeniable fact...I won't go into depths to defend him, but only his victory at Tannenberg would make him deserve the spot (alongside Ludendorff of course)...here's not the place to discuss who (of the two) was more important in the outcome of the battle (as many in the past have discussed already)...and we need more first world war GG for Germany, as they did fight very well in that war and came close to victory in many occasions (and btw I think most people tend to underate the importance of ww1 and maybe it's one of the reasons why we see so few games that portraits it compared to ww2).
Now about Ludendorff, sorry if I didn't take into account your "underrated" part of the comment, but it looked like you didn't give much importance to what I had post.
And finally sorry if I offended you, I've been very stressed lately (I know it's no excuse, but that happens, I hope you'll at least try to understand...).
Sorry.

I find that excluding Hindenburg was a matter of consistency with the rest of the project and made as more of a logical decisions rather than a conscious one to specifically exclude Hindenburg.

Both with this project and my EDCNs, the developer needs to remember that it is someone else's project. I feel that like myself, Tomorrow's Dawn is trying to keep the project up as close to the fashion that iOnlySignIn would have.

Lastly, XML editing really isn't that difficult. It is extremely possible to add it yourself for your own game.

Open the EGPN XML file in Dreamweaver (or Notepad++) and CTRL+F:

<UniqueName>Paul von Lettow-Vorbeck</UniqueName>

Add this line afterwards:

<UniqueName>Paul von Hindenburg</UniqueName>

Then Save.
You'll have to do this each time the file is updated.

Anyways, I understand what you mean.
Not particularly about WWI, but in general about being a history hipster, and taking a more academic approach instead of the pop-culture approach that other games tend to take
(looking at you, Civ5, for your horribly inaccurate Civilopedia, and at you, SEGA and Total War, for hiring Stephen Turnbull as a historical consultant.) which I wholly accept.
Personally, I paint and draw, and I have a lot of paintings to do this week, which is very stressful, so I understand as well.

About iOnlySignIn, he just quit participating on the subforum.
But I can't take credit for something someone else started, so he'll still be credited.
I take a heavy line on plagiarism being an artist myself.
(Which reminds me that I need a .txt file logging in contributors for this modmodmod)
