I'd just like to make a point:

Whilst the entire focus of the entire British Police Force was directed at us protestors and what we might get up to at Gleneagles, they ignored the real threat from actual terrorists.

Secondly, National ID cards would not have prevented this. 6 bombs, in a coordinated attack on the transport infrastructure of the capital city? That is a major operation, which should have been picked up by 5/Special Branch regardless of any ID cards.

Yes I find it unforgiveable that our nation was not on RED ALERT for a terrorist attack given all that has been going on. And yes the brunt of the police force was diverted. And yes this should have been picked up by Intelligence.

What the authorities are doing is rolling out their 'Cobra' operation, whatever that means. It is a combined task force of police, emergency services, intelligence, cabinet ministers and so on. Police are at the head of this task force.

And Bigfatron - Although we have had plenty of bomb scares and some isolated explosions from the IRA, we have never experienced a co-ordinated, widespread attack like this one. We should drop the old "got the terrorist mug, cap and T-shirt from dealing with the IRA". Clearly such complacency has left us vulnerable.

Then, I will reenlist military forces next week or so, and hopefully plant some bullets or stab weapons into some warm Al Quaida body or who have you confronting our Western world with cowardly violence. If I could play the Demogame at CFC and let some people live, I could as well sign up again.

All of this holding up of work over a few bomb blasts sounds a bit much to us in India . Even when there was an attack on a temple ( just a few days back ) , normalcy was not even shaken except for the temple's neighbourhood . How an entire city can come to a standstill due to just a few blasts is a mystery to me . Did the blasts affect you ? If they didn't , what's the problem ? Why not go on with your life ?
