Fall Further 050 Bug Report Thread

*offtopic*

FCOM is what Oblivion should've been at release.

On the performance bit, if you have a second harddrive, it can pay off to put your page file on a drive that ISN'T your windows install.

The turns are getting ridiculously slow. I mean, now it can even take up to 4 min from when I press end of turn until I can move again. Playing on a large map with only 9 AI left, turn 210. Getting slower and slower as game progresses. Makes this mod basically unplayable.
I say ignore all other fixes/patches, until you fix this bug. Really, there is no point adding content unless the game is playable.
Btw, I have 4GB of RAM, so that should not be the prob. It was never the case in FFH2.

What difficulty level do you play?

not really a bug, but if you capture workers/slaves when you play the lizards, they build roads instead of trails. Maybe there is a way to change that by adding a promotion?

omg yes. If you tell a captures worker to build a road (since they can't do trails) from point A to Point B they go along "improving" all the trails along the way to roads.

Of course then native born workers have to convert them back when their orders send them to the same area. I have started just deleting captured workers so I don't have to worry about it.

I am experiancing a bug that causes a pop up window to apear when ever I try to load any save game. And the only option is to click ok witch crashes the game.

The window displays a message saying: Bad memory alocation.

I can load from the main meny. But if I try to load a save from a runing game, it crashes.
I am forced to get arround this by quiting civ and staring it up again to load a game.

Just now, the bug has expanded and my game crashes in a pre set turn.
3 turns after this save game (turn 148)

Also, where can i see what patch I am runing on my FF?

PPQ Purple: You are experiencing a Memory Allocation Fault (MAF) which has been dealt with by many mods of Civilization 4 which basically just become too big for the engine to handle. Also it's a result of the program reaching the "2GB Barrier" I am really hoping Firaxis create a native 64-bit version of CIV V to scale with the future of where computer hardware is going.

Unfortunately all you can do is close CIV and re-open it to load your game. It can happen when ending your turn when the game creates an autosave as well.

The problem is that it is now happening every time the game reaches turn 148 in the save game. And there is nothing I can do to keep playing that game.
Would disabling auto saves prevent the game from crashing in the end of the turn? And if so, how do I do it?

While it IS annoying because the captured workers waste their time, the roads convert to trails by themselves. There is a 20% chance per turn for a single tile of road to become a trail, so in about 5 turns you should have all trails again.

Playing as Scions, the reborn (or is it awakened?) birth rate percentage has disappeared from my UI.

You most likely hit the cap. After receiving a certain number of Awakened, the spawn counter will shut down and you have to rely on Reborn, unless you lose enough population to put you back below the limit.

Thanks, what about disabling auto saving? Would that stop the game from crashing at the end of the turn.
And how do I disable auto saves? Anyone? I realy need to know how to disable them.

hit CTRL+SHIFT+A to disable them temporarily. Might only work for chipotle though... Not too familiar with MAFs though, there was something about expanding the available memory which helped lots of people...

To permanently disable it, edit the .ini file.

Thanks for the tip. Sadly, it isent helping. It seems that nothing can be done to rescue my game.
Is that how this mod playes constantly? Is there no way to play it with without the looming doom of an imenent and unrepairable crash hanging ower ones head?

I see... minimal. Well good luck with that...
I don't know how you define minimal.
I just know that my first game ever got killed in turn 148 and that I am not likely to play this mod in the forseable future. Or at least untill I see a patch that handles this.
As I said, good luck... hope to see a fix some day. But not realy counting on it.

I define minimal as:

Everyone who bothers to give us even a pinch of information to work with to SOLVE issues reports an ability to play games well beyond turn 500, where most sane games end. Those few people who seem to have crashes early on either tell us some information and find that it is solved almost instantly, or point out how they have only barely tried playing the mod, hate us with an absolute passion because we are obviously reprehensible, and won't play again.

Either way, things are solved quickly enough that I lose no sleep :)

That made me laugh. :goodjob:
