The year is 8 AM*. It is the dawn of Magecraft and Civilization as we will know it. Sorceresses and wizards and magi in all lands are at last beginning to harness the untold power of magic, but even the greatest of the diviners, necromancers and oracles cannot see the future...

In this NES you will not have standard armies such as spearmen or archers. You will have different sorts of mages such as 30 Wind mages, 20 Mana mages, 10 Chaos mages, and a secondary part of the army, the allies called by the mages. Battles will depend heavily on you writing tactics, and a little bit upon terrain, use of terrain ie. I will do most of the casualties, wins, surrenderers etc.

Instead of trade routes, you can build magic gateways into the other land. It is not advised to make war on the people that you have a gateway to.
Gateways are not easily destroyed

When you want to expand, tell me, and i will edit it into a map. Expansion rates differ from time to time.

Economy is replaced by Country Mana. This represents the amount of tappable mana in your holdings. This affects the amount of mages you can recruit, and how they do in battle. Country Mana will be replenished after time, but usually your mages will use it faster than it replenishes. It will grow when you expand into new lands. It will grow by a lot with certain random events that I will deal out.
Mage recruitment per turn is maximum of 5 for 1 Country mana. Your country mana does not get drained!
You can build mage schools for mages, or you may recruit some types of mages from the countryside, or just wait for them to turn up by paying mages well in your army. Mages are very greedy.


You can of course build cities, roads, wonders etc. It's up to you.


Here is a short list of mage types. Feel free to invent some yourselves, but please make them realistic. If they are too unrealistic, I can veto them.

You can combine several of these, for example: Fire+Wind+Animal+Nature=Summons Dragons

The army will be in two parts; the mages and the things they summon, make etc.

As you expand, you may say things like "At the foothills of the Quagazar Mountains..." and invent rivers and mountains etc.

Extra Bonus: I'll give 5 free mages of any type to the person that can guess where I got this map from, and 1 Country mana to whoever can guess wich parts I used (More than one or two out of a total of 4 or 5. If you guess 4 lands, you get 2 Country mana, maybe three.)

Shall I just place you somwhere random, or will you point out to me where on the map Valenadara, the mountainous area at the base of the Volcano Valendara is?
The government doesn't really do much, exept give you reasons to, for example, attack other people with different govenments.

Magerule is a type of government where a council of mages meet every month (or something) and talk. There is one head mage, three secondary mages, and five thirdmages. The council is made out of these, and three normal mages that have remarked themselves in battle(twelve alltogether.) The head mage has a veto and two votes, the three secondary mages have 1 vote each, the five thirdmages have one vote each to, but they are rotated each year, while the others serve for for life. The three battlemages have one vote each.

Well duh, it's Australia, and Panama, and there is southern island of New-Zealand, Tasmania in full, Madagascar backward and that lake is from africa, And let's not forget Baja? from mexico and those 3 islands are Galapagus, huge turtles in there :) and the last dinazours :p

I'd like to join as Lord Erik of the kingdom of Wesseria (Monarchy). Starting near the pointy peninsula place (Horn of Africa).

Geography: The river Laedwath spilts, flows on both sides of a volcano, and converges again- in this three-way junction is set the home of the Mages of Wesseria.

The Mages of Wesseria:
The kingdom is kept flourishing by means of the 4 chaos and 4 nature mages who constantly travel the kingdom, first tapping chaos for their power, then making the plants grow, then channeling controlled chaos into them for good mutations, i.e. bigger plants, such as potatoes.
The main army is 12 Geomancer mages. Geomancers are mages of the four elements, not as skilled at creating or abusing them as mainstream mages but rather more at drawing on them. E.g. if there is a river nearby their water magic will be stronger. A metal deposit will make it easier for them to call minor earthquakes et al.

Then there's the commando team. This is to consist of 1 Air, 1 Conveyance, 1 Death, 1 Summoning, and 1 Divination mage.

The 5 last are 5 Water/Pattern mages. Pattern is the essence of Order and the prime opposite of Chaos. It strengthens spells but restricts them. These mages are very good at creating ice and editing temperatures.

Turn 1 orders: Recruit 4 Fire, 10 Earth and 6 Geomancer mages.
Start the summoning of a undead-dragon-ghost-cloud-transport-thingy for the commando team. (done by the Summoning, Water, Air, Death and Conveyance mages.) It can't attack. It's the magical equivalent of an invisible silent helicopter.
Expand to the west.
 
So when can we get an update? Are we going to expand quickly? I want to get into a war with somebody soon.
