Taruq

The Khan of Taruq begins to issues a contract for all the vassals within the empire to ensure loyalty and trust. The contract is received warmly and encourages to some degree economic and cultural revival within Carran.

Create a written treaty and honor-bound agreement between all current and future vassals of Taruq Khagan.
•All territory of vassals will become autonomous regions in the greater Taruq nation, with the ability to raise troops, and the promise of protection by the national military.
•There will be a limit of half of the output of the region's economy to be paid tribute (favored vassals may pay none at all) to the Khagan.
•In times of war, Vassals must join the Khagan's army with all forces. All plunder gained by a lord may be kept as reward for service.
•A council of lords, those most powerful and skilled vassals, will be assembled to determine domestic policies of the nation.
•A Vassal may war against another nation for reasons of honor or territory, and request aid, and the Khagan will be required to aid.
•A breach in any way of this contract will allow the vassal to declare independence, and the Taruq will be honor bound to not war with that independent country for fifty years.
The Khan sends a considerable force northwards frightening many of the barbarians to join his empire. With aide from his border vassals the troops are able to penetrate far north facing little resistance due to the fear the empire carries with it. However, a powerful tribe to the north is centralizing its power to oppose conquest by Taruq. There is also one more thing the Ortzi tribe has a sizeable Veneratio Avatorum within its borders which my provoke Terra Trifluentia if attacked by Taruq.

(Taruq: +500 infantry, +250 Cavalry from vassals, -500 Cavalry)

Collapse of Kaldur

The nation of T’lur Pa continued to savagely push the invaders back inflicting terrible casualties on civilian and military alike. First a new offensive along the River Animas was launched pushing the enemy all the way back into its borders. This army then combined with the army sieging Kaldur overwhelming its defense. T’lur Pa poured in and in an act of anger the soldiers looted and burned much of the city despite protests from higher commands. The city of Kaldur was all but deserted as the survivors fleed into the welcoming arms of the Terrians who were asserting their control over the collapsing nation. T’lur Pa withdrew from Kaldur satisfied with its victory; however, they did annex some small border regions. Two new cities are built one on the ruins of Kaldur called creatively New Kadur and the other Watershed.

(Terra Trifluentia: +1 bonus, Kaldur: Destroyed, T’lur Pa: -1500 infantry)

Terra Trifluentia

In a bloodless coup the Kaldurians with support of a large Terrian army overthrows what remains of the Kaldur monarchy. The King and his two eldest sons died in the siege of Kaldur and the heir to the throne was the youngest daughter. A weak heir was easy to defeat with little protest of the people. A strong sense of national identity remains and it will be many years before Terrians can stomp it out.

Sky Gods

The Sky Gods have been quiet consolidating their gains and building their normal tombs.

Chaos in Dilhava

The Dilhava nation has some of the most respected merchants in the Great Sea. However, recently a propaganda war is being waged to hurt the reputation of said merchants. Mostly unsuccessful but it has made many Bhatoists begin to question whether Dilhava is looking out for the alliance or itself thanks to the spread of rumors across the Great Sea. Another shock when a failed assassination attempt to the Dilhavan ruler fails but any attempt to interrogate the assassins fails as they took their own lives using poisonous plants. The Dilhavan government is looking into this and it will need to ramp up espionage on suspected nations in order to get to the bottom of this. Despite their extensive spy network their apparent enemy has done very well hiding the trail.

Other news masses of Karankoff related peoples have begun to migrate into the rivers south of the Karankoff States. These people are peaceful and of the Bhatoist faith easily integrating into society but ethnic tensions are rising. It is yet to be seen if Dilhava will try to regulate this immigration at the moment.

New cities are constructed and an ambitious expansion program launched. This does strain the government’s infrastructure, military and education but provides bonuses. Once the land is consolidated it promises to be productive if Dilhava can make use of the vast rainforests in the area. Large birds are found in the Jungles but attempts to domesticate these birds are often foiled by the rather tiny brains of the bird. Instead they make a much better barbecue at the moment.

(+2 bonus, -1 education, -1 infrastructure, -1000 infantry, -100 Hawks, -500 Cavalry)

Vencia

Vencia’s senate was facing growing criticism for failing to force the appointed leader to get a backbone when dealing with Hyoln. Finally, they force the nation into a war with Hyoln calling on all conscripts available to fight the war. This faces even more criticism from the mercantile class not wanting all out war. However, the invasion goes forward and is very successful on the lower terrain overwhelming the small settlements. The invasion does stall when the army faces fortified positions in a mountain range built by the Hyoln army. Hyoln has yet to fully react to the invasion as it is on their frontier settlements and Vencia has yet to claim victory. A lot hinges on the diplomatic efforts of the senate.

(Vencia: -2000 militia, -1000 infantry, -200 Cavalry Hyoln: -1000 Infantry, - 500 Crusaders)

Moldvi

Moldvi withdraws from their raids on Hyoln discovering a new target. The king with a new and powerful army strikes southwards killing all those who resist. Within a few weeks the northern half of the nation is completely decimated as floods of Oslan immigrants move in. The Moldvi army then surrounds the urban centers. For nearly 15 years both hold out but finally succumb to the hunger and surrender. Moldvi slaughters the inhabitants within the cities and begin to centralize a new state in the region. The cities are empty but being repopulated with the new nation of Moldvi.

(+Moldvi as a nation-state)

Conflict in Bhatoist World?

The Holy Bhatoist Empire of Neptanian attempting to rebuild its power within the League forces all Dilhavan priests out of the Bhatoist Church of Neptanian (most powerful in the nation) replacing them with pro-Neptanian priests. The effects of this only lead to further suspicion by Dilhava they are behind the espionage acts.

Tephen

Tephen continues to push northwards against the barbarian invaders.

Fizcat or Fiscait?

The young duke was growing more powerful using his extra funds to bribe others to support him. In fact his popularity had grown to the point that the Duke’s overthrew the Grand Duke elected by them. He soon rose and replaced him on the throne.

The young duke also began to prounce his nation differently then normal using a catchy barbarian dialect referring to the nation as Fiscait instead of Fizcat. It offends many but is starting to catch on especially in his home duchy. The Duke also inherits the throne of a small duchy on the other side of the bay further increasing his strength.

(+1 bonus)

Huming

Huming is also quiet this turn consolidating its gains from last turn. The country invests mainly into the education system and steady expansion in every direction. The population continues to explode due to the often plentiful rice harvests.

To the Bhaotist League:
We are puzzled by your reactions to these facts, since we have never made a secret that we consider the affairs of Dilhava Over the Affairs of the League, as this is the only acceptable attitude for a nation with any self respect. We do however Consider the League matters just below our own affairs, well above Other, non-league, non-bahoist states. Our Honor would compel us to do no less, for you are our equals and peers, after all. as long as you do not try to walk over us or attempt to use dishonorables tactics like the recent assassination attempts on our beloved Queen, we will never consider a fellow League nation our foe.
