Remenber I am not asking for the Best Civilization or the ones that are still here today I am asking for your faves.

I probably made lots of spelling errors.:(

An Englishman ranked America #1 while England failed to break the top ten.

My Irony Meter just pegged. :crazyeye:

EDIT: Please ignore everything above this edit. Poster has not had his morning coffee yet, and thus cannot identify things that are OBVIOUSLY LISTED IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER. :hammer2:

:coffee: up next...

I really don't know if I have a favorite... I like playing different ones and seeing what they're capable of doing. My best game, though, was with the French. Right now I'm playing the HRE to see if I can rock the Middle Ages. Other than that... well, can't name a fave.

mine is the english.i like to get rifling before any other civ.i can then attack the cities usually defended by macemen or the odd longbowmen.

I love the Vikings. I like to wage war but also like to tech fairly quick. The Vikings are also my favorite because of ancestral reasons.

I have no favorite. I always play random leaders and go with what the game hands me, although there seems to be a bias in the random civ generator since I have gotten some two or three times while never yet having rolled some of the others. I may have to start specifying the ones I have never played to try them all, one at a time.

Roosevelt of America.
I can usually get the wonders I want (like TGL), and I love getting Forges and Courthouses built +50% faster.

He is rarely voted the best, probably, because, of the late occurance of UU and UB, but, still fun to play.
With Random Events turned on, I usually get one of those that improves my melee units with shock, cover, or Drill1, and it feels like I gained a UU suddenly.

With 35 choices, that is too many for a poll.
Maybe, when you get enough to reduce down the options, you might do this as a poll.

Germany w/Bismarck. Always nowadays.

I LIKE to build wonders. Good god, if there is stone and/or marble somewhere near my starting point, the wonders never cease (so to speak). Higher health cap right off the bat, and if one gets that seemingly ubiquitous event about the herbal healing thing, the health cap won't be a problem for many moons.

Like the UU and UB, though I seem to be a minority around here.

Like the way some of the early units look; "black" knights, spearmen, scouts.

I'm on board. I like playing Civ through the modern era.

And yes, the units definitely look cool. :)

English, with Victoria.

I'm not british but I'm interested about the British Empire so it's always nice to claim new lands for the queen..

Consistantly? Probably the Ottomans, but I have a huge soft spot for spain.

Although I do play random leaders to force myself to train into varying situations and varying traits, I do have a tendency to restart if handed Brennus. I can see no purpose in life for that character. At least the other Celt, Bootycall, is charismatic which is a good solid military trait.

Brennus is also Charismatic, isn't he? I agree Charismatic is a good trait, but I'd actually take Brennus (Spiritual) over Bootycall (Aggressive). I'd rate Brennus as an OK leader for the human. Random leaders is good, you never know exactly how you're going to play.

I like Byzantines, but that's for historical reasons than they're the best Civ or the most fun to play.

Looking at the list I realised exactly how many Civs I haven't played. Asoka is my favourite, but I'm now playing random leaders so this may change when I've played a few more - I've rolled Suleiman a couple of times and enjoyed both games.
