"I can imagine a world without war, a world without hate. And i could imagine me attacking that world because they would never expect it"

not exactly a real-world war quote, but:

"...Well that and three hundred million screaming Chinamen."
"I thought there were a billion screaming Chinamen?"
"There were."

Movie anyone?

Actually it was nine hundred million, and I think the movie was "Red Dawn". I've never actually seen the movie, I just saw that one scene on TV one day a few years ago.

I'm Chinese and I find that EXTREMELY racist! I am offended by this random quote with no explainations given.

An explanation: The quote comes from the movie Red Dawn. The movie is about a Soviet initiated WW3. Nuclear weapons were used. The quote refers to a partisan in the american rockies asking a downed American pilot about war news. The pilot is giving the rundown of who is on the U.S. side and mentions (I think it was 600 million) "screaming" Chinamen. The kid says, "I thought there were 1 billion?" Pilot says, "There were." The inference is that nuclear weapons have been used on China by the Soviet Union.

The movie came out sometime in the early 80's. It has been listed as one of the most violent movies ever.

There is your context. Hope it helps.

My Quote: " I gets there firstest, with the mostest"

I apologize DBSD13, I certainly did not mean to offend...

For some further context in the movie, basically the US had been nuked and invaded by just about everyone in our hemisphere as well as the USSR (where the 'Red' in Red Dawn comes from...). One of the characters was talking about how horrible it was in other parts of the US (Dallas and other cities had been wiped out...) the other character asked if we had anyone else on our side...and that was the quote. I certainly didn't mean it in any racist way, I'd just happened to have heard it earlier that day. The movie itself was rather silly, based on a few high-school students conducting a guerilla war against Soviet forces (as if!) In the context of the movie it was showing how bad a war between Superpowers would be...hope that sheds some light on it.

Ok a real world quote, "There is nothing more exhilarating than to be shot at without result."

"I'm Racist and I find that EXTREMELY racist! I am offended by those random apologies with no reasons existing."

Excuse me but I'm just SICK of seing post saying "You bad nasty racist!" and everyone cowardly apologise, instead of telling the guy "you see racism in that? Well my grand'ma saw a UFO yesterday..."

DBSD13 : either it's a joke (and congrats you fooled them very well), or you were serious, and then it's hopeless, well maybe later you *may* understand that all things you dislike do NOT immediatly fall in the category "racism".

Goddamnit when you want people to guess what movie it comes from you do not explain the whole movie...

Overusing the word "racism" is just taking away what it means, it's worse...

And now, for your education : I hate the chinese government for what does in Tibet. I dislike the chinese citizens for accepting such a government. I despise the chinese culture for several of its aspects. And even those are not racism. I am free to think what I want of a government, the citizens of a nation, a culture.

But when I talk to an asian ("asiatique" in french : china is is a country, not a morphological trait), well I just don't feel I talk to an asian. I feel like I talk to a man, like anyone else.

So please learn what racism means before shouting "you ugly racist!" at someone who obviously did not mean to...

Now a little joke :

It's a rich jewish guy, at jerusalem, at the famous wall there. He's praying:
"Oh God I have bet 2 millions dollars against the Yen, oh Lord please make the Yen go down !"
At his sides comes another jewish guy, who starts praying:
"Oh God I have nothing to feed my familly today, how am I supposed to do?"
Then the rich guy takes 100$ and gives them the poor one, telling him:
"Take that and go away ! Let God focus on MY problem!"

(heard on the 2nd most important french TV, peak hour, told by a rabbi)

PS : if "jewish guy" is insulting and you did not understand I didn't mean to (hey I'm not english!), then read this post again :)

Bob:
Oh, sir, sir, please don't give me away, sir. I just wanted to be like my brothers & join up. I want to see how a war is fought -- so badly!

Blackadder:
Well, you've come to the right place, Bob. A war hasn't been fought this badly since Olaf the Hairy, chief of all the Vikings, accidentally ordered eighty thousand battle helmets with the horns on the inside.
