Also, I'm surprised Maya got the support it did against England.
I was expecting a score like 12-2 or something.
I'm suprised too. Mayan game is too AI-like IMO, just discover a tech, build a wonder without any competition and then just prepare for war. I am suprised to see it winning against Khmer and I'm suprised that it is suported. I guess that Maya has a really good extra-UHV game, and much more freedom compared to other civs, and it is really likeable.
Egypt vs Spain:
War chariot (+25%

,immune to first strikes) vs conquistador (can enter jungle march

, +50% attack vs melee (except pikes and warriors)):
This is quite strange,
war chariot wins, because its effects are general.
Obelisk (religion-unaffected, +2 priest slots) vs citadel

hammers: as rock always present, +5XP on siege units):
The
2 surplus priest slots wins.
Pharaoh vs Discovery:
I consider both relatively weak powers. Pharaoh counterbalances Egypt's backyardness as far as its neighbours is concerned. Discovery isn't really useful IMO, except if you run for the UHV. I'll give it to
Egypt, if used properly it can give an early advantage.
Ancient Egyptian culture vs first colonist:
This culture is the only that deserves it, because it means wonder building, expansion, conquest, or a combination.
Egyptian wonders vs Spanish Empire:
Egyptian wonders, because I prefer building than expanding, and because it is more difficult in that case.
Ptolemaic culture vs mini catholic victory:
The
mini catholic victory wins here.
Egypt: 5
Spain: 1
So the
The egyptian old, middle or new kingdom, or
Ptolemid Empire wins!
