Samurai vs. Albion Legion:
The Samurai has 2 first strikes and is 50% more effective against melee units. For its time period, it is an incredibly superior unit, in addition to being promoted 50% faster.

The Albion Legion moves as quick as cavalry, can completely destroy riflemen and start with a city raider bonus.

Japan wins.

UB:
Kaizen Plant vs. Hacienda:
The Kaizen Plant is essentially a mini-factory, providing a production bonus as well as power. That has the potential to make Japanese cities extremely productive, at the cost of unhealthiness.

The Hacienda is essentially a second bank when you have coffee as well, something abundant in South America. A bank with a hacienda can reel in 100% more money. Also, the hacienda gives no negatives, and you have all the resources needed in South America to get a +5 health bonus from the Hacienda.

I'll have to go with Colombia on this one.

UP:
Honor vs. Liberator:
The Japanese power is clearly superior, since you can have experienced troops in almost no time. Although the Colombian power is useful for the historical victory, it has no use outside of South America obviously.

Japanese culture vs. Gran Colombia:
I much prefer kicking out colonial empires than building culture, so Colombia wins.


Empire of the Rising Sun vs. South American Union:
Both goals are awesome. The Japanese empire is easier to attain, because you have a whole millennium before you need to get to it. The Colombian goal is much more difficult, because of the limited time frame. Also, the Colombian goal can be done on land for the most part, while the Japanese goal requires a heavy navy as well.

I find the Colombian goal more appealing.

Japanese technological superiority vs. Drug trade:

Attaining 5000 gold from trading is based mostly on luck. After getting those Europeans out of Central America, it is really hard to find trading partners that will get you that kind of money.

It seems there is a small mistake in your post. It's a draw. Japan wins UU, UP and UHV3. Colombia wins UB, UHV1 and UHV3. So that is 3 each. I think you forgot to count a victory for Japan.
