Feminism

Her shirt complains about issues way out of proportion, and trying to equate feminism into a white vs non white thing is kind of annoying.

I have a t-shirt that says "i am a genius" in comic sans showing a lion on stilts next to a giraffe. T-shirts can never blow an issue out of proportion. It's a t-shirt making a joke about a thing that exists.

Says the guy with a Che Guevara avatar and "fighting liberal elitists" user title?

Then she can ask for it (as in, actually ask for it).
What if she's into choking and bondage scenarios?

Also, are you seriously suggesting that this hypothetical woman simply ask her lover, "would you kindly fondle my breasts?"

I have a t-shirt that says "I reek of putrefaction". Christ only knows what we're going to make of that.

Sub-discussion: Did capitalism empower feminism?

What's the problem with her shirt?

I think the woman is using the shirt as irony, but the the one who linked to the photo isn't. You should read the reddit I got that link from, via google and via another website.

Ah yes, reddit. Truly known for its sympathy to the plight of women.

... seriously? All sorts of people use reddit. You might as well overgeneralize all of Facebook as 'anti-woman'

Never really considered looking at interesting bits out and about in public to be sexual assault. Women are pretty, sometimes I look at them and enjoy the sight. Noticing something that fits my mold of sexual desirability doesn't rise to the level of "my outfit isn't an invitation."

Problem with staring is that the uncomfortable factor is relative. One person's glance is another's eye-fornicating. Thus, I make a point not to worry too much about it.

reddit is like 90% men, don't kid yourself (and infamously sexist). It is disingenuous to suggest that Facebook and reddit have similar demographics.

All sorts of people are Nazis. Doesn't mean categorizing Nazis is the same as categorizing farmers.

acccording to wikipedia reddit is only 59% men, far less than CFC.

Is feminism something that can be empowered independently of actual women? Which, historically, capitalism has no particularly great record at empowering.

Capitalism did breakdown pre-industrial social structures didn't it?

You can certainly argue that capitalism broke down the structure of pre-capitalist patriarchal household, and that this is for most women a condition of empowerment. But that does not in itself empower women, because capital has no necessary interest in empowering anybody but capital, which is why most women globally have simply experienced that process as a transition from household drudgery to workplace drudgery. The extent that women are actually empowered, I'd say, is the extent to which they've empowered themselves.
