Legislature:
1. Aiolos, while your system of governance is certainly ambitious in its attempts at equality, I fear that some of what you have proposed is a bit vague. What exactly would fall under the scope of the "upper house" and the "lower house"? How many members would belong to the lower house? Who would select the members of the lower house? How would decisions be made in both houses? What would become of the position of Elder Council? Also, I feel that the ability to act swiftly will be key to the tribes survival, particularly in case of invasion. Who would lead our men into battle to defend the tribe?
Also, I do no believe that we can devote anyone to the position of
"specialist" at this time.
2. I have a couple of names that I would like to propose for our tribe. First, is the unimaginative
Hoosiers. The other is the completely random
Candraqa.
Foreign:
1. At the current time, trade seems to be a impractical goal, what with the lack of goods as well as any determined trade route. However, it is important to that we gain an understanding of the neighboring tribes, so to assess their threat to us. A small scouting party would be ideal for this task. I would suggest that a single hunter be sent with a single bodyguard, so that they do not wander of and get lost, thus negating any benefit we might gain from the expedition. I would like to suggest that the first tribe that they should investigate should be the one directly north of us (the orange one in Michigan).
I would also like to propose that we appoint and send out one of our number (an immortal) to accompany the expedition. This man/woman would take the position of ambassador, as opposed to the bodyguard.
Military:
1. I believe that the bodyguards' main task should be to protect those in the government. This "Black Guard" (don't ask me why I thought of this name, it was the first to come to mind) would accompany the ruler/rulers both within the village and on trips to other tribes.
Internal:
1. In terms of the wasted food, the only thing I do is agree with Aiolos and advise that the tribe look for methods to preserve food, including looking for salt.
Science and Innovation:
1. (
OOC: Before I say anything about this, I must first ask
Sonereal a
question: Are you using real life figures to determine how much fish/game/edible plants we will find? If not, what are you using?)
Migration: While I believe that migration may be beneficial to our tribe, might I suggest an alternative destination than the coast?
The green region with the yellow circle is where I propose that we might sojourn to. As it borders one of the Great Lakes, it must have an abundance of fish, and there is a large amount of salt in region. (
OOC: Trust me on this. As a native to the area, I can assure you that there are large salt deposits in the region. They don't call Syracuse the Salt City for nothing. Plus, New York is considered a major agricultural state.) Also, the terrain is less rugged than if we went straight for the coast.
OOC: Another question: Do we have pointed sticks yet?
Also, if we do need a
religion/faith, I think that
Sonereal should come up with it, as opposed to any of the players.
