FfH2 Bug Thread

I blind reved patch "z". The only change is that I inserted a button for the bannor champion to stop a CtD. You can either redownload and reapply the patch or just download the attachment, unzip it and put it in your "..\Fall from Heaven 2\Assets\Art\Interface\Buttons\Units" directory.

I'm playing a game as the Mercurians right now (patch z), and when I capture the Ashen Veil holy city using my angels, I get a CtD error.

EDIT: So I tried to remove the city in world builder, and this happened:

It CtD'd next turn. I can capture other cities fine, though.
 
I am playing as the Mercurians on patch z. When I take an Ashen Veil city, the religion is removed automatically, but not the Temple of the Veil. Because there is no non-state religion in the city, I can't cast Inquisition either.

Secondly, Kuriortates can upgrade dwarves to centaurs - I got some via a lair event (dwarves vs. lizardmen) got some axemen and had the option to upgrade to a centaur charger.

Possibly a cosmetic issue - Airships can travel through obsidian gates - even if fully loaded...

Also - bug or feature issue? I'm not sure if this is intentional, but my centaurs (all of them) seem to be unable to benefit from the enchanted blade spell?
 
Crash to Desktop with Kuriotates - at end of turn. Not sure why and python isn't giving any pop ups. Attaching it here. Currently on patch y, but it doesn't *look* like the z patch would fix it - downloading anyway but here you go. I have no idea what the computer is doing - game seems to crash between me ending my turn and the next one starting (while the world icon revolves).

I think that Kuriotate Centaur archers do require stirrups, I don't think it is a bug at least according to the manual (regardless of how illogical it may seem.) Think of the 'stirrups' as being a form of elite training. Note that the Kurios don't need horses, a big benefit.

The upgrade of the dwarves is clearly a minor bug (although it is hilarious!)

Enchanted blade works on melee units, so it doesn't impact centaurs; this isn't a bug.

It does seem to be an awfully big advantage though.

Maybe you could should remove the DOMAIN_LAND requirement for using them entirely. I'd like to be able to transport my ships this way too.

It may be reasonable to not let units with cargo not be able to use the gate, or make all the cargo count towards the number of units that a gate can transport. (Currently gates can only transport 1 unit per turn, but several modmods change that.)

Thanks for this. Its a divide by zero error in native BtS code. It will be fixed in the next version.

Also, an exploit I found in the same game... If you're Order, and you give a city to someone with the Order back and forth, it keeps spawning Crusaders. You could literally make an infinite number (the computer stopped giving me back the city after awhile, but it sure seems this way).

The stirrups issue is mentioned in the 'unconfirmed bugs' thread is all, so I thought I'd add some evidence :)

Thanks for the clarification on the enchanted blade. But I find it odd that it doesn't work for cavalry - although I suppose there's a problem differentiating between melee and archery cavalry?
 
Until you remember they will usually have far fewer towns with which to warp units around. I think it counters that disadvantage in a rather elegant fashion.

Not really. If you get the Nexus you get obsidian gates in all of your settlements. Rush a settler over to the tip of your soon-to-be-opponent's continent, found a settlement and warp in a huge invasion force in airships... or use those midway islands to the same effect... not only do you have a huge force but ALSO the troop carriers to get them over there, saving on several turns spent moving from one of your cities to the actual battle site.

And if you're playing on God King, it's fairly easy to build wonders - especially if you switch to industrialised - or whichever one lets you build wonders in 50% of the time. I'm not against them being able to use the gates necessarily - but using them fully loaded seems rather a large advantage.

I've had the same problem with the Blasting Workshop, but once I started a game as Luchuirp (to see if it was visible in their civilopedia) it started showing up, even when I went back to the main menu.

Anyone seen this before? Any ideas on the cause?

I've notice I don't seem to be able to get more than 100 XP beating up on barbarians. If you go to war with someone and stick him in the front lines this should change? This happened to me with the RoK heroes.

On a different note - the Jade Torq (immune to poison damage) isn't stopping a unit being poisoned via an event - i.e. exploring a lair and getting attacked by a scorpion clan gobbo... it probably should.

did you try it against anything other than barbs or animals?
