FfH2 Roleplaying Games [Thread III]

hows the game going so far?

Just a short and probably stupid question.
Since MP games tend to take a lot of time... has anyone ever tried a PBEM version of this?

The Easter Bash Phase 1 has been completed. We got 6 players so far. Deon dropped out early (even though we spent ages waiting for him). The Infernals got owned by the Hippus as soon as they were summoned and are now at war with the Bannor who just cast Rally. The Illians and Malakim are still at war with the Calabim, and the Pirates are starting to piss off the MIGHTY KHAZAHKSTAN.

Fun game so far. Had 1 complete restart due to a heap of OOS's caused by the heaps of AI. We're looking at continuing tomorrow. We might finally get an FFHRP game into the late era.

There have been a couple games in the history of FFH MP that have made it into the late era. Usually it came down to a tactical win via "Blind" ... and usually such games were 80% peaceful.

However, the only truly epic game we have ever had was the Hammer game, where the Hammer of Dis destroyed the Order holy city, which was protected by Order worshipping Vampiric Spectre summoners.

And the Final Battle was extremely close too ... Messhaber had maybe 2 hitpoints left out of 100 xD

Say, can you post a save on this thread (of how the game is now) so that I can see whats going on? My hamachi is broken, but it least I can indirectly share in the fun ^_^

I'm around too. I'll go hang out in Hamachi, have a few hours to contribute to this game I guess if we continue.

What happened to the game after I left?

Well, Malakims and Khazhads declared war on us when you left. And bannor gathered a huge stack to attack Nubia (AV holy city) but the brave hippus managed to push them back and save the city! Malakims captured vamp capital, vamps used seven pines and we had OOS. It was me vs whole world so we quit.

You mean the fact that Blinding Light can turn an entire army into a sitting duck, with absolutely no counter(other than Auric Ascended's Snowfall or 'countering' with another Blinding Light to stop them from picking you off)

What about the epic Luchruip/Mercurian alliance against the Infernal and Orcs, with a few other civs? That was pretty epic.

I think it was a good game RP-wise, and also pure fun game-wise.

Lalun were true pirates, settling coastline and ruling the sea (trade and contraband).
Malakim enlighten by Lugus were turtling but after joining overcouncil they decided to crush winter-bringers.
Bannor were Order fanatics, allied with Basium and fighting Evil.
Hippus were true mercenaries.
Khazad were greed and stubborn, but lawful to the core.
Calabim were EVIL. (I hate Order Calabim)
Illians were turtling in they igloos, breeding penguins and scheming to bring everlasting winter.

Alignment distribution was 2-3-2.

And the goody ones won.

Sure a fun game. Maybe a bit sad for bad guys, but thank you for the game nonetheless, I hope you enjoyed it. That snowfall + slow is really nice to counter Blinding Stack of lugus. I was sitting in that forest forever :P.

Actually after Bannor expanded that much and we've got 3 horsemen, it was basically a game over. We just had more production and units so there was nothing bad guys could do.

I like the fact that after I've captured (with a good help of dwarves of course, thank you Azhral) the now frozen Dis (oh irony) and renamed it to Icewind Dale and proceeded to scorch ice into tundra, it was really a cool experience :P.

But I lack ability to scorch tundra to plains... That "Deepening" really f**** my capital BFC.

And yeah, I had 4 sun mana... Chalid Astrakein with 4 sun mana, War (+3 unholy) he kept after defeating Buboes and Summon aurealis is really a "kill the world" hero...

FFHRP channels seem promisingly full today? Anyone around or another channel to go too, or are you all already started (in which case I'd kick myself for not posting on this thread yesterday about which regular start-up time we'd use. But I'd be fine joining in as a sub/replacement/something anyway).

Predicatbly, after the Svaltafar and Lanun leadership committed suicide rather than seeing their empires crumble, the Infernals won a Conquest Victory. Only thing of note that happened was the barbs DoW'd as Infernal stack approached last Lanun city. Killed 4 Beasts of Agares, 2 Eidolons and Hyborem. But the remaining Eidolons and Ritualists plus the dozen horsemen were able to take the last city before being wiped out.

The Horsemen and the Avatar of Wrath won that game. Only Ars Moreindi died attacking Basium himself. But the Avatar crushed Basium later that turn.

Ah silly Lanun should have founded another city so the barbs could war against Hyborem for real. ;)

But yeah, the horsemen won that one - so Infernals really deserve it for the AC. I couldn't get out of war with something the whole time, I can say I was feeling the pressure. But also nice play by the Svarts, we had a good run the whole time, the early worldspell was annoying cause I didn't want to DoW your territory but still had to fight all those warriors. (plus like 20 lizards, the Pristine Guardians, and Orcus :p So glad when I could cast my worldspell).

Anyway it was fun again all. And apenpaap - you were fine and helped set up the Infernals excellently. It was mostly the horsemen being devastating after you left and the Infernals just got to clean up. (though Azhral did well too of course. Grimoire sling always nice)

I had not worked so hard on my strategy, next time I will run away with my first settler if I'm close to Ljosalfar, thier worldspell ends the game pretty fast for a poor Svartalfar.

I'm happy to see you enjoyed the game. You seemed a little annoyed that my harrased had damaged your early game.
