Final Fixes Reborn

Random thought. What about just flat out having a wealth like anti crime repeatable you could build in your cities to periodically beat crime down?

I think I got the python bug lol, when playing I got a random crash, after restarting I got one game to load with like, 6 turns played then it crashed. After that game I could not get any games to start past the loading screen. After deleting it and reinstalling, I got one game to load with the 6 turns played again before it crashed. Thereafter I could not get any games to start past the loading screen.

Usually it takes me 2-3 load attempts to load a early-mid game, and up to 8-10 a mid-late one. With the save breaking (get this weird clock that counts down from 4:20, then ends turn) maybe 10% of the mid-late saves (sometimes fix the save to restart computer for some reason). Thank god for autosaves...

I like. A project that gives flat -20 crime and no science or gold generated. Call it Martial law, army control, or gang purge.

I prefere the idea from PPQ_purple : hammers convert to -crime at a 1crime/hammer ? or 1 per 2 hammers ?, like wealth, research or culture do to build respectively gold science or culture; your city still builds gold/research culture

and/or we could get a new specialist : police/cop/prison-warden : -6crime/turn (it's own crime, +2 pop), gives ... GGeneral gpp (?)
Grigori statestmen give -1 (or-2) crime ?

I don't know how easy it is to program, but any possibility of adding a Crime Rate column to the Domestic Advisor screen, similar to the Culture and Great Person columns? So you can see at a glance what the Crime Rate is in each city instead of having to look at each city screen separately?

Possibly modified by buildings such as dungeons as well as the number of units in the city (if the later is even possible).

Have been playing the beta version without many issues but wanted to try the svn version. Downloaded it all, game starts but every time I try to start a new map it crashes during initialization. Is this the unforgiving python bug? If so are there any workarounds?

Random question: I never get the infernal (nor mercurian) to spawn. I usually play good (Ljusalfar) immortal epic speed large map, with extra evil civilizations, but at around turn 350 I usually quit for being to far ahead, and no infernal have spawned by then. Usually Ashen gets founded much later then leaf, runes and overlord. Maybe a third of the game Frozen has spawned. Anyone else see this? (I even try to babysit the Shaim so they can focus on founding Ashes and thus can research the pact, but to little avail)

Random question 2: the main reason I’m so far ahead at turn 350 is that no ai expands fast enough - especially the evil ones. The only civs that tends to keep up somewhat are good, and especially the Malakim that seems to be the only one that truly starts expanding at around 200-250 (still much to late). Elohim rarely go above 2 cities by the time their wiped... This is over maybe 15 games for the last three svn versions.

re 2.
maybe try huge map. i usually find if the cualli or khazad are in the game, they're close to me or ahead- especially the cualli.

just remembered- i also play with only 9 civs. gives everyone time to build.

Cualli: yes, I agree now when you mention it. Kazad & Lanun somewhat. But what is this mechanic that makes most civs so hopelessly behind in general and don’t spread? Huge map would make no difference, they don’t fill up the space closest to them, and never settle prestine islands.

What difficulty are you playing on?

I'm doing a fresh install on Windows 10, but running into a crash on gamestart.
Crash occurs here:

Error message:

Issue is present with both stable release and SVN, leading me to believe this is a problem with my setup. This is a fresh install of BTS, to the correct directory (Steam\**\Civ 4 BTS\Beyond the Sword\Mods\Ashes of Erebus).
How do I fix this?

I'd like to suggest that something be done about Bradeline's Well, specifically about the Purify Bradeline's Well spell.

In my current game Bradeline's Well was in a tile directly adjacent to one of my cities. I sent Hemah with Life 3 to cast Purify Bradeline's Well. Next turn (or maybe two turns later) my city had been razed by Agares, with a stack of demons standing there on the ruins and my units in the neighboring tile.

I don't know if the demons are supposed to automatically raze a nearby city, or if they're just supposed to show up in a neighboring tile and just happened to show up in my city. Either way, losing a city without warning is pretty harsh. I hope something can be done. Thanks.

I remember this error with other mods in civ 4. Checking again the correct folder solved it for me (beyond the sword/beyond the sword/mods)
https://forums.civfanatics.com/thre...-initialize-the-primary-control-theme.251332/

check if you use steam that you have the beta version of civ 4 enabled
