Firaxis Livestream: Let's Play Germany Thursday Aug 18 2PM ET

It's interesting, the conversation prior to opening the civilopedia. I think Ed was subtly questioning opening the civilpodeia, not necessarily talking about revealing Germany's agenda, when he asked, "you want to reveal that now?"

Actually, it is Andrew who says "you want to reveal that now?"

Here is a transcript of the entire exchange:

Andrew: "Could we see the German agenda?"
Ed: "Your own agenda?"
Andrew: "yeah, Are we able to see what" (Ed cuts him off)
Ed: "I think you can go and look at it in the civilopedia" (Ed opens the civilopedia)
Andrew: "Ok"
Ed: "That's true. We haven't revealed exactly what that is."
Andrew: "Are we going to reveal that now?!"
Ed: "Why not?"
Andrew: "Sure"
Ed clicks on the leaders and selects German's leader in the civilopedia which reveals the entire leader roster on the left side on the screen. Ed describes the screen and banters with Andrew about having Barbarossa's hat and red beard. He then reads the agenda.
Andrew waves, leans over a bit and whispers: "close the page"
Ed immediately closes the page and says "yeah"
Andrew and Ed look at each other and nod to each other awkwardly.

I get the impression that Andrew was asking the question about being able to look at your own agenda and was not expecting Ed to actually open the civilopedia. It is Andrew who asks surprised "are we going to reveal that now?!" Andrew seems taken aback that they are going off the marketing script but goes along with it when Ed says "why not?". It takes several seconds of Ed describing the german page for Andrew to realize the mistake.

Is "multiple leaders per Civ" really a major feature? In strictly functional terms it affects very little. It's a selling point, but primarily a cosmetic one. Especially if only one Civ at launch is going to have multiple leaders. They were probably waiting for the Greece First Look to talk about it.

It seems to me that they've only included one in the base game to demonstrate the idea to the customers, with one planned for DLC to test the DLC market for just leaders. If it sells well, they will produce other leader DLC in addition to full civ DLC.

As for why they haven't promoted multiple leaders, there has been much debate on its merits since Civ V vanilla. They may have taken the criticism of multiple leaders to heart and decided to go for the soft sell.
I don't remember a lot of backlash against multiple leaders. I rather enjoyed it in Civ IV. Though, I remember some backlash against not having them in Civ V. There was done debate and maybe a couple of dissenters, but I don't remember a big fuss or anything (unlike the graphics and available civs with Civ VI).

My hope is that when you set up a game, you can select the civ and leave the leader to random for those with multiple leaders when it comes to picking AI opponents.

Ahh, ok, clearly I remembered that exchange backwards somehow.

I thought it was about revealing the civilopedia.

That awkward moment after they realise that they revealed the leaders.

For those having trouble opening, it wouldn't open in Firefox for me but works in Google Chrome.

As I heard it, it was about whether he wanted to reveal the agenda (and not the civ list), but that's just my interpretation.

Encampment seems to be providing 1 culture... interesting :)

And when they are building Encampment, it says 60 base production, and 90 real production cost. I think that at that moment they have one Holy Site finished and one Campus in progress in another city, so each subsequent district seems to be really much more expensive (unless I am missing something).

EDIT: Commercial Hub next, 60 Base production, 97 real production. Interesting numbers.

Right gave it a shot and here is a downloadable version.
It was pretty tricky since somehow there are 12 different flv 'parts' instead of one big flv file. Had to combine them together into one. Audio seems to be out of sync a bit.
You need a program like WinRAR to extract this:

Correct. They only meant to reveal Germany's agenda, revealing the civ list was the blunder. Apparently, it did not occur to either of them that if they looked up Germany's civilopedia entry, that the screen would also feature the names of the other leaders on the side.

The link works. It's a Chinese site so I haven't even found the "full screen" button yet, but otherwise playing works :D Welcome to the forum, Jilrme.

For those of you who have been confused by Chinese, here is the basic translation of bilibili's player.
