Five Take On The World (Conquests, Deity)

I played 3-4 turns and we have oil.

So how should we do it now? If we take out the northern Indian cities they will be totally gassed and Babs will run over them.

Any ideas?

If we took out Karachi, would that give us a route to Babylon? If so, I would do that and then go after Babylon, ideally getting them to declare war (perhaps by stealing tech). Great work on getting oil :thumbsup: I see you have it well protected :thumbsup: That will make life a lot easier...as soon as we can get our tank army into the field running over AIs will be slightly easier.
 
We will build a few tanks tanks every turn now, and UN is finished soon too.

Ok, I will try the southern route. I didn't before since I feel I have to take out Delhi as well and India won't be much of a help after that.

Hmm, they can still be used as a buffer until we get enough tanks as we still have over 50 bombers and the same amount of artilleries. Whatever the Babs throw at us from the east will be crunched easily.
 
India is going to be weak no matter what we do - they seemed weak before the war even started. I would also choose to destroy their southern most cities to get at them even though it means their captital as I really don't see the alternatives making them any more useful.

Pre-turn - Assess the situation and find a target, the oil near Copenhagen. The spot is surrounded by at least 2 culture cities, Oslo and Calcutta, that has to be removed.

I remember the speculation of Greece oil, but the island city doesn't even have a harbor, so that won't be possible.

Move all bombers from the northern part of our peninsula to the allocated spot near Indian borders. Bomb Oslo down from 15 to 7 pop. Shuffle some workers around doing meaningless tasks.

Remove radar-tower near Oslo with bombers from the navy and continue whacking Oslo with bombers from the mountain-spot. Bomb Oslo down to pop 9 and almost kill our army against a 2hp flak. Kill the remaining 1hp infantries with sipahis and raze the city.

1505AD - The immense Indian airforce (2 bombers) hits nothing.

Next target Calcutta is showered with bombs.
Continue with Copenhagen to diminish their cultural borders after razing the city.
Move in 3 sipahis to raze Calcutta next turn.

Use bombers to destroy some roads and hurt some units in Bombay.

1510AD - Destroy Calcutta, but the borders doesn't shrink?
Ah well, on to Jaipur then. And Stockholm.

1515AD - Destroy Jaipur and we have oil. Change builds to tanks.
We have to wait to mobilize when United Nations is built in 6 turns.
Destroy Stockholm.

Use the rest of the bombardment to cut roads.

Irrigate a couple of tiles in cities to add pop and still have the "magic" shields of 50 and 100.

Someone ordered a tank-army? Disband sipahi-army in Iznik.

Try to trade something, not a chance. India won't give up Rocketry, so I steal it from them.
We have aluminium near Edrine if we ever need it.

1520AD - Bomb Karachi down to 1 pop, move 4 tanks to the area. The last tank find an Indian infantry guarding Bindasara, a leader! Bomb the inf and kill the leader.

I can only reach the city in 2 turns, so I continue bombing roads to leave just a path. I intend to grab the gems by Delhi when the time comes.

1525AD - Not much

1530AD - Karachi is razed, moving on to Delhi. Capture a russian settler.

1535AD - Delhi is gone and we have a road towards Babylon borders. Unfortunately there are over 30 Bab-units blocking the way to create another airfield.

1540AD - Built an airfield on a mountain next to Babylon borders and move bombers there.

1545AD - We build UN. Time to be sneaky.

I sell Fission to Babs for Amphibious Warfare and all their 1166g. Try an immediate steal and we are at war. :) Peace with India for 308g so their units attack the right color.

Capture a Babylonian worker on gem mountain and build a colony right away. Lower luxtax to zero and all is good.

Use artilleries on stacks of red units and bombers on everything else in sight.
Kill 25 units.
Destroy Punjab.

1550AD - Raze Lahore. Kill another 25 or so units.

Our military: 40 infantry, 22 tanks, 1 tank army, 6 sipahis, 48 bombers and 49 arties.
Babylon: 128 infantry, 2 tanks, 3 TOW, 11 arties, a bomber and a few fighters.
 
Sometimes we get desperate and miss the obvious, Greebley :) The thought was right tho. I saw the other oil as possible because of the great setup I got. With 50 bombers and 50 artilleries noone can fail.

Really time-consuming turns, but great fun!

We are building 4.5 tanks a turn now, if I remember correctly and I don't think mobilization will up that. 50% extra shields will make cities doing like 150 and 75 shields per turn and what can we build with that? I only want tanks, tanks and more tanks right now.

We might want to build some more bombers, late I lost a few because of interceptors.

I thought for a while of gifting Greece and Russia into our age, to maybe get Computers or Ecology...But do we really need that?

And remember, the homelands are fairly unprotected, so be prepared to move troops back and forth now and again. I only had a couple of settler "threats"...but who knows? :)
 
Hi everyone!

Please keep up the good work and don't let this game die! As I posted in AG8, I'm snowed under at work and have very little time, so I can't take any turns in the next couple of weeks. Please do continue if you can and you want to...we're so close to a glorious finale!

Alternatively, I can understand if, with the host absent, that the game might drift or stall. I don't want that to happen, but, if everyone wants, we can postpone this game for a short while and resume later? I reckon I'll be back into the swing about the beginning of July. So it's up to you guys. We can abandon the roster if we want and just let whoever wants to/has time play, or we can postpone for a couple of weeks?
 
I was waiting for Hotrod to play. He seemed to indicate he was still at it in another game I am in. I was thinking of giving him a nudge actually. I don't consider this game stalled or dead and can play it at any time if I am up.

And if the turns feel too long, why don't we just play 5 turns each just to keep this moving?
 
I have only been able to play 2 turns and they were painful at that. Will try to finish up 3 more and post soon. I understand the need for bombers and artillery but feel some how that they have really taken away from the game. Spent all my time just trying to get the right bombers to hit the right targets. NOT FUN!

Will post 5 turns sooner rather than later.
