I realise that the ideologies are very opposite, but the flag itself appears very appropriate for a fascist, in particular an alternate Viet Nam or other Southeast Asian nation.

Very nice, very Russian and very East Orthodox. I might have colored the cross a nice dark Roman red given the importance of the Roman/Byzantine heritage for the Russians, but the alternating black and white is a good choice also.

Its neat, though a bit implausible (but then, EQ's PoD does require quite a suspension of disbelief). Whatever happened to the old tricolour, though?
The black/gold/white flag was used from 1858-1883, but I decided it looked cooler and would look better having an Orthodox cross on it than the white/blue/red.

Here is the flag I designed for the new Union of All Norsemen in LuckNES. It's basic layout is that of a Scandinavian Cross in ice blue, signifying the Northern origins of the Norsemen/Scandinavian peoples. The white outlining the cross is the peace of unity that has brought the Norsemen together. The ocean blue signifies just that, the oceans, upon which the Norsemen draw their culture and wealth and have built their empire.

I sorta like the dark red, although adding a 6th color seems kind of odd. Maybe more like the first flag, but from the tips? Something like:

I really like the second one Banana. It may have that extra color, but the overall look is much effective and appealing. I particularly like the light burst ring surrounding the star. The dark red is also the perfect color choice to accent the star and light burst.

The stripe was the right choice. Looks a lot better than a cross or St. Andrews Cross would.

I agree; improving the pirate flag is hard, but the stripe of envy looks good nevertheless.

I wouldnt have letters on the crown.. does the purple have siginifcance? Perhaps two vertical stripes either side of the crown?

The purple is supposed to be royal purple. Older font has been noted along with better stars to do.
