I just received a trophy congratulating me for making my first post. ABOUT BLEEDIN' TIME I GOT SOME RECOGNITION AROUND HERE

Nice work getting the upgrade done on time (I seem to recall the last one taking about a week to do ), will poke around the forum a bit to test things out. One thing I can see is that the Buddy List (i.e. not the 'Friends' list) is now visible on your profile. So although I only have 56 friends, there are 57 'following' me because some new user from 2007 added me to the buddy list for whatever reason. Also I have like 120 that I'm 'following' because I used to use the Buddy List quite a lot before Friends became an option.

I also can't see that option, but apparently at least 3 people can.

It honestly just seems like the only people making it a popularity contest are the people shouting up and down that it's a popularity contest. In over a decade of being on forums I've never seen likes used to convey or otherwise imply popularity, only agreement or appreciation.

Well, it might be selective bias from us... or selective blindness from you.

I'm a relative noob here, so I won't go through the "should've dones" or the "it's not like it used to bes". Just a couple of things.

The top item I've noticed is the lackluster default forum style. However, as Thunderfall notes in the OP, new forum styles are in the works. I realize this is relatively low priority compared to getting front page content back online. Maybe recruit someone into working on the styles separately? Just throwing the idea out there.

2) I don't like Flash

Is there any flash here though??

According to the Account Preferences Screen there's a "Use the Flash-based uploader to upload attachments" option.

FWIW, I don't use Flash at all, don't even have it installed on my system. If the uploader is the only thing that uses Flash, I'm good, particularly if unchecking that option allows me to get around it.

I'm gonna guess that the new forum software uses UTF-8 properly for text, while vBulletin didn't.

It all looks like HTML codes, so it should be possible to make a script to go through the database and update all those instances. Might have some false positives however, so not sure if that's an acceptable solution.

Nope, can't see that, probably a Mod thing since there's a WARN button. And does the IP button allows you to track our IP address ?

Try mobile if that works, Camikaze has the report button in his screenshot so probably it's not a mod thing issue.

Otherwise, appearance and interface are poor. I hope functionality is improved.

also I need to complain, that no longer a posting can get a headline, so that in a longer thread the topic of the posting is to show up.
Now all postings are similar, very hard to follow a long thread.

Everything looks great, all these new fangled features!
It will all take some time to get used to, I'll miss the old forum for sure, it was aged and unwieldy but it was civfanatcs!
