I'll be totally frank, I couldn't be bothered about Likes. I'm curious as to whether I need to re-do my entire formatting since [TAB] is broken. Is it salvageable or not?
Just to add to this, apparently [float] and [set_anchor] are also broken currently. This may be the sort of thing an add-on might fix.

honestly I have more issues with the points system than the likes, but that's just me.

Since I go to the paradox forums, I'm kinda used to the system already. I'll live. I prefer their Agree/Respectfully Disagree/Helpful system to likes, but w/e.

I'm going to second senshi here, though. Was there a big call for this change, or was it just a case of "the old software's obsoleting faster than flint knapping"?

So you mean I don't have to waste several hours fixing my formatting? I should mention that in addition to [TAB] are also broken.

Security. Trying to maintain a secure vBulletin is becoming very difficult (unless you move to the latest vBulletin, which is a resource hog).

If we're able to collate a list of what's broken and the functions they formally had, it should be easy enough to use an existing add-on or modify one to suit our needs once we get the big issues sorted out. The xenforo forums have an entire section dedicated to BB Code addons, so I'd say we should be able to find something there that will work

I'd perhaps hold off on it until things are settled down.

I'm not involved in the upgrade, so Thunderfall would have to confirm, but I imagine what we're seeing at the moment is the 'out of the box' forum software, with a fair bit of customisation still possible, and a fair number of tweaks still to be made. As I understand it, Xenoforo have add-ons just like vBulletin did, but it will probably just take a while to install all the right ones.

Hopefully, this "eventually" will be this year. In all honesty, for me, only [TAB] tags are a priority - I can do without SUB/SUP.

I think the "user has quoted your post" alert is excellent (had suggested it a year ago :) ).

Main issues i have with the current form of the forums:

1) Avatar has two different forms, and the one to the left of your post is enlarged and cropped -- don't do this ;)
2) no other skin available, and i dislike the current one...

So what about the missing edit button? It's temporary I assume?
Or am I really blind?

Spoiler-Tag works, but seems to be missing from the toolbar.

There is an edit button, it's just tiny. It's to the bottom left of your posts.

I can't find the quote button, however.

Regards

Another question to add to the list :
Is there a "go to first unread message" button, on the forum pages ?
Because it can't find it :/

Maybe I'm the most blind person on this planet, but I'm pretty certain that I don't have an edit button:

/edit: Oh, this post has an edit button for some reason. The other ones didn't (and still don't have an one).

Speaking of which, you could hide forums you didn't want to see - like, Civ3, Civ2 or what-ever - is this going to come back?

Now the post above can't be edited either.

My assumed conclusion: Is there a 5 Minutes limit on editing posts?
If so, then that's probably a default that needs to be changed.
