Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Hmmmnope, there's no such thing as that.

Would it ever be possible to implement a catalogue of 'greatest hits' for a user? It would be a place where you could save posts you really like so you can refer to them in the future.
Mine are all listed in one place (infraction tab of my profile page). You should talk the mods into doing the same for you.

He can say 'this post was infracted' but not publicly discuss the infraction itself.

At the last fork, you probably should have gone left rather than right. This path may not be a good one.

What would cause a post to just disappear without a mod?

Yeah. I posted about accidentally get exposed to carbon monoxide and I guess the mod misunderstood that

So I have uploaded many pictures to CFC by going to the 'go advanced' tab and using the manage attachments button. I have noticed that CFC keeps track of all of these pictures and tells me how much space I have remaining.

My question is, where are those pictures stored? How can I retrieve them without going to the thread where I originally posted them?

Also, is there any other method of uploading pictures? I've noticed other users have uploaded pictures in such a way that does not show the thumbnails at the bottom the way it does when you use the 'manage attachments' button and they also seem to get around the 500kb limit. How do I do this (I'm not talking about posted a pic from a website, but from my computer - or maybe they are uploading to another website and linking from there?)?

Thanks

You can find all your attachements under My Account -> Attachments (at the left, at the very bottom).

If or if not thumbnails are displayed is a matter of your settings...er...I thought, can't find where that is set.

For images, you have alternatively the option to upload them to our image gallery, but then they'll have to get approved before they are visible.

I use Photobucket. Some people use ImageShack or some other free image hosting site. Get an account there, upload the images, then use the forum links they provide. Include the link in your post (with spoiler tags if it's a large picture), and you're set.

^This. Imgur is really good, as you don't have to have an account *and* you get full sized pictures.

Most likely they are linking those images from another site like ImageShack or Clip2Net.

*EDIT* Looks like the question had already been asnwered. :crazyeye:

Photobucket is ad hell, and ImageShack isn't a nice place without AdBlock either. Don't use them. imgur is the fastest and lets you upload way more crap than the other two.

Also ImageShack asks you to pay once you go over 500 images (which go really fast on this kind of forum). Picasa ftw, even if it's tricky to use.

I've got a good one:

Why is the Modern CFC (Fixed Width) skin so thin? I couldn't even find a use for it on our last two (progressively tiny) monitors. :crazyeye:

OK, that makes sense. The smallest monitor I've used was 18". Guess that says a bit about how long I've been around...
