Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

i mean do they count. Bcos a post mine got deleted once and i got off record warning and i didnt get any official thing. So

Off the record warnings are usually just reminders not to do something or your post may really just be borderline and a mod is pointing something out to possibly move the discussion in another direction or towards a more civil course. If we remember that we've reminded you of something more than once, we'll probably give you an official warning/infraction.

May I ask what is going on behind the scenes these days? Just wondering about future changes or features that are being seriously considered among the admins/mods. I know a lot of stuff probably doesn't affect me or most posters. But I'm still curious about where the forums are headed.

I hope this isn't against the "npdm" rule. If it is, no biggie, I won't be bummed about it :p

Content wise, we've brought Camikaze in to help with some Civ V info center stuff (I realize most people that read this won't care about that, but the point of the site is Civilization and content is extremely important).

As for forum moderation stuff, not much happening at the moment, still discussing some of the things that you've already seen posted about (new rules, etc.).

Are PM's ever infracted? I mean, couldn't a member break all the rules w/out being caught unless the receiving member uses the report button?

Report PMs if you don't like them.

I don't report posts often, but what is a typical response time for a reported post?

I don't report posts often, but what is a typical response time for a reported post?

24 - 48 hours usually. If not acted upon in that time, we're either (in some cases) still discussing it or most likely have deemed no action is necessary.

In certain low activity forums with only one or two mods, the response time may be a little greater as the moderators of that forum might not be online as much.

How is it decided when a new moderator is needed, other than a retirement of an old one?

Do retired mods get a pension?
