Where is the proper venue to discuss how CivFantics promotes Christmas?
1) I find the Red and Green theme hard on the eyes; red is one of the least desirable colors in reducing eye strain, yet that color is far more plentiful in the site's Christmas Theme than the more desirable green (with respect to reducing eye strain).
2) Civfanatics isn't a commercial enterprise that depends on Christmas traffic to bring into the black, so there doesn't seem to be a need to remind everyone on the site that its the Christmas season from Thanksgiving and Black Friday through New Years Day and beyond. Maybe the week including Christmas Day would suffice.
3) A big Christmas holiday greeting at the top of each page shoud suffice; there's no need to remind all users of the site about the Christmas holiday every second via the eye straining red and neutral green theme colors.
4) Despite the gross commercialization of Christmas, it is still a sacred holy day for many Christians and has little religious meaning to non-Christians. It may even offend some non-Christians that Christmas is promoted so much, even in a secular manner.
5) Christmas has come and gone. Perhaps the site's Christmas greeting prominence now be reduced? Change the red and green colors back to their normal colors?
The above is only my opinion. Perhaps, few share it. I just felt it was important enough to bring up. I was not able to find a prior discussion of this topic.

There are probably not too many people bothered by that, because as a user, who's logged in, you can just change the theme in the bottom left corner, so that you don't have to cope with the Christmas theme

If you find the Christmas red hard on the eyes, try the Turnip Green skin (yes, they really call it that).
I never thought Christmas was "scared"...

There are probably not too many people bothered by that, because as a user, who's logged in, you can just change the theme in the bottom left corner, so that you don't have to cope with the Christmas theme
Thanks for suggestion. I never knew that the Christmas theme could be deselected on a per web browser session by selecting a different theme.
Yes, the Santa hat smileys are also distracting, but not nearly so much as the Christmas theme.

Is there any way to wipe posts from several years ago? I know it would involve asking a mod or admin to prune, but I'm more so wondering if that's an option or if you're stuck with what you have.
The reason being that upon reading my posts and threads between the ages of 12-16, it uh... Yeah, I was a stupid child. Being able to get rid of those posts would be great, but I understand if that's not possible.

You can delete the contents of a post using the edit button. To remove the post itself, the staff would have to help with it.
You went by a different username back then, correct? So there wouldn't be very many of us who would remember which name to look up, and why would we make an issue of it?
If he went by a different username back then but the account is the same, all the nametags in the posts change whenever the account's username is changed.
Anyway, several threads have been closed, archived, and an entire forum was massacred. So, many posts are irretrievable/unmodifiable.

Would a staff member be willing to help with that? I know that vB has the ability to prune a member's posts before a certain date but I'm honestly not sure if moderators are permitted to have that ability and if Thunderfall even has pruning activated.

Correct. Yes, I had a different username back then, but the name tags are all changed and anyone can see just how stupid and ridiculous I was back then by simply going to my profile and clicking "See all threads" or "see all posts".
How about we just promise not to look?

I'm not worried too much about you guys.
It's more so that there have lately been people searching my username on Google to find out more about me and I use the same persona everywhere now. Everywhere else is wiped of anything incriminating or something that is more hassle than it's worth, and I'll be honest -- Nearly every post I made in the first four years I was here is more hassle than it's worth. While I'm not at risk of being embarrassed, the people searching my name are the type to blab everything they see and read and are a member of various large chatrooms.Having "12 year old Syn hated rap!" plastered everywhere I go is not something I wish to see. Mainly because the moment I move I'm disconnecting myself from anything in my past, but also that I really don't have the patience to explain to people that when I was a child I had no guidance and had to do everything myself. Many kids get through that with drugs and crime, I got through it with woeful naivety and acting more stupid than I really was to seem like a normal kid (worst decision ever).
Getting my posts pruned is not really a necessity, but more so something that I'd love to see happen because it saves me a lot of potential headache in the future and it gives me one less thing to worry about people who are too nosy finding out things that they can use against me. I'm all for judgement if you know me but people are known for judging based on what they hear. It would not be surprising to find out that these people used what they found when I was young, and described me as that today to people who didn't know me and thus robbed me of the opportunity of potentially meeting nice or interesting people, something which I'm lacking due to a distinct distaste towards the common man.
Either way. A "yes, that can be done" would be awesome but a "no, we can't do that" is okay, too.

Yeah, I'm not editing over 4000 posts and I can't edit archived posts either.
Starting again would solve nothing unless I intend to change my name on every site I frequent. Also not happening.
