LOL at the pigs.

How do you take a screenshot? and where is it saved?

1. Hit the "Print Screen" button on your keyboard. (It might say PrtScrn or something like that instead, but yeah)
2. Go into some Image-editing program, like MS Paint.
3. Hit Ctrl+V.
4. The Screenshot is there. Save it, and it will, by default, be in C://Users/<username>/Pictures.

Playing as Spain on RFCE, I found something really weird (mouse over 'Vassal State', btw):

Surely you would want to be a vassal to a really powerful master?

This is a quirk in the game. It's a stupid feature of vassals. The more vassals you get, the less the others will vassalize. It isn't so much of a strange screenshot as it is a reminder of how crazy the rule is.

IIRC if you are the most powerful Civ in the game the others won't sign a permanent alliance with you either.

A Tribal village. It's the little brown huts scattered about the map which can give you bonuses like a small map, some gold, techs, or occasionally spawn angry barbarian warriors which either give you a decent amount of XP or wipe your only scout off the map.

EDIT: Err, this is a reply to totalepicness and I have no clue why it's so late in appearing... strange...

Those little hut things? whenever i move a unit on there suddenly there's a barbaric invasion so i always avoid them.

oh, and i think the problem is that you become the vassal of that civ, not they become ur vassal.

Either you are playing at a high level or have very bad luck. At lower levels, the odds favor getting something beneficial although the chance of a barbarian remains. Scouts rarely pop barbarians. Combat units are much more likely to do so.

i've never built a scout unless i started with one.. even then i still used it as defense for my city until i could build a warrior

Scouts are guranteed to get good results from Tribal Villages, so it's a good idea to explore with them. THose free techs can be very helpful.

@Bowsling, I think defending with a scout removes the unhappiness from no defenders. I've done that in a pinch before.

Yeah, but you can easily just build a Warrior. Early cities are too small for unhappiness to kill them.

Early cities never have a need of defense before the warrior is built. Explore!

This is an unusual oddity you don't see often. A grenadier attacks and captures a city... and his supporting army runs to another city 3 tiles away!

(Attack was from the north, from the Rice)

Spoiler :
This is how it happened.

I don't have open borders with the Aztecs, so when I captured the city, the tile my soldiers were on was no longer within a German cities cultural control, so the tile was reassigned to the Aztecs (who had a city nearby, and 4% control of the tile). Since the tile was adjacent to the city, the reassignment happened immediatly, meaning my army was suddenly on foriegn soil without open borders... and had to leave for the nearest friendly tile.

I still don't know why that nearest tile was *that* city... I thought they would be pushed to Amsterdam...

[Edit] Wait a second... 2 S of The Hague is also a valid target ... and 1 S is both closer AND a friendly tile!! So I *don't* know why they ran all that distance. I don't mind however... I was going north anyway :P[/Edit]

[Edit2]Oh, and this gem of a random event. The founding father of the United States of America, after dismantling the oppressive Republic and it's loyalties to the rich and powerful, after spending a lifetime spreading democracy to thier small but growing nation ... doesn't even last a single term in his own government.

Top two messages read:
* The American President is facing impeachment
* Washington adopts Democracy

Looks interesting. What mod are you using, ROM2+AND?

Since its blocking the road, an oil truck probably crashed and spilled the oil ;)

More like the watermill backed up the ceptic tank.

You know that there was meant to be a black Taj Mahal ...

That's not a road, it's the driveway. The asphalt contractor was a lazy slob and dumped the extra in the yard!
