Inca : "We are tired of being your subjects! You boss us around and make cruel demands every day. No more. I say: NO MORE!!!"

France : "oui, oui. So no more red wine, french cheese, holidays in Paris and Cote D'Azur for the Incas. No more Moulan Rouge and Champagne eh? Ok. we get it. bye bye."

Inca : ".... eh.... wait a second..."

Yes, Maya is a vassal. No, theyre not supposed to have optics/gunpowder. I just did not see that coming. At all.

Maya became a vassal during its turn. When they exchanged maps with their master, they won the circumnavigation race.

In my recent RFC game as Japan (ancient start), I was at the top of the tech tree... Except for a single Civ I hadn't met yet. Assuming it to be England (who I did not meet until the 1600s), I sent a Caravel off to America.

Turns out that more advanced civ? The Maya. They had gunpowder, banking, and steel somehow. They had the Inca and Aztec as vassals, but the Inca were Spain'd shortly thereafter.

I guess that if the Maya can survive the aztec spawn they can get a pretty good science rate going and become a tech leader.

The Inca were Spain'd... good choice of words there, and welcome to CFC. :D

That being said, a few shots from recent games where I stopped playing 'start as minors', which gave me a huge advantage.

1) Grammar nazis:
2) First of all, it's a 6-civ map, I wiped out one, and you still have 3 GG's born on the same turn... second, circumnavigation in 385 AD... I have a feeling my musketmen are going to be nuked.
3) Greenpeace:
4) Weird situation... I got 2 bad spy events and 1 cross-faith marriage with Walesa, but then we both got the famine in a city event. As a result, I have sizeable positive and negative influences with him.
5) Grammar nazis again:
6) Fairly small islands... about 20 coastal tiles total. The galleys must have been gathering there from turn 1... needless to say, my caravel was violated with great ferociousness on the next turn. (And then the idiot automated explorer sent 2 more to the same tiles).

Plus Magellan was born the same year he went around the world. :dubious:

That's his city advisor, or perhaps Sid's Tips, telling him to play the game with fewer mods.

or maybee his city advisor really wants him to build the sphinx

Starting a new game as Mongolia. Everything's fine, scouted west of my capital, where I noticed a desert. And there was NOTHING.
No resources. No rivers and lakes. Nothing.
Not even floodplains.
What's worse, I got walled in from the east, so now all I got is this big, expansive desert with NOTHING in it.
I promptly choose END GAME with the blatant disregard of what's store in the future for me.

That desert probably has about 20 sources of Oil in it.

Could be an interesting map actually. Much obliged if you posted the save!

Unfortunately, I don't have it anymore. I replaced the save for a Japanese game. But althought the RNG has been kind to me (save for some rare 98% odd losses), the RMG has been a thorn on my side alot lately (like 2008ish):c5angry:.

That map could make awesome 5 promotion fog busters ^_^.

Back on topic:
I am the yellow player (burger king) and toku invaded me with a stack of samurais.... but when the stack got to my land, we declared peace... so he ends up in a remote island in the persian coast hehehehe... I think they can use their sword to cut those trees and make themself a few shacks

LOL. Now either Toku will have to send a fleet over to pick them up or those guys will just die on that remote island.
