That's what they have shields for. Out in front of you for swordsmen, above your head for archers, kinda to the side for axemen. ICBMs? Just jump into a hole and cover the hole with your shield, you're good.

That would be an understatment. I ended up just nuking the city and STILL the archer was there. He finally died once I sent in another tank. Even then he still nearly won![]()
But what about tanks?
That's why you have the option to reject his empty threats!![]()
You throw the shield like a Frisbee at the tracks and it'll be stopped dead (He needs the Accuracy promotion though, but what else is WB for?)
This one's from my current game: my friendly neighbors monty and shaka have been trying to sneak settling parties to the lone resourceless desert tile to my east, potentially putting cultural pressure on Smolensk and stealing its only food tile, the sheep; if I had closed borders I would have lost trade route income and more importantly lose the hard-earned open borders diplo merits and drop their attitudes towards me to "pleased," which would have been okay for most other AI save for these nutcases ... luckily even though both have metal casting, and could have used my own road network anyway, they insisted on sending them on unescorted galleys, which were promptly dispatched by my "mercenary navy" ... who says barb galleys are evil?
