Yeah, it's the river. It can go on the railroad up to the river, then from the river to Thebes.

If you cut off all the roads touching the river, Thebes would be cut off, but that might not be worth the effort. It would probably be easier to just attack Thebes.

Even then it would not work, if there are other cities on the river or if the river reaches the ocean and there are coastal cities, unless you also cut off all of them.

Or you could send all those spies to every mine/farm/plantation/well/etc. that the Egyptians have and destroy the improvements. Then the only resources they would have is whatever seafood your spies can't get to, and whatever they're paying cash to another civ for.

Of course, if they have teams of workers for damage control, it'll start costing you some serious EPs to keep destroying the same things over and over again, but like you said, the game's already won anyway.

Yeah, I was really bored. I knocked out, repeatedly, their gems wine iron uranium oil etc and then decided to try this. Didn't feel like DOW on Egypt and was just biding time. thanks everyone for 'splaining

Nothing 2 tactical nukes couldn't handle Btw, I've never seen 45000 gold in my life in this game (beware, it caps at 99000 afaik ) You should spend it for rush buys or up your research.
