Lately I had a deity start with 2 gold and gems, plus ivory in 3rd ring (and sufficient food ofc). Do not underestimate the power of that these resources give early.

Just a note for you for faster cultural victories - if you turn your culture slider up high earlier, you'll beat those AI's space races. You're studying fission at zero percent science. The zero percent is normal and good for the end of a cultural game, but you don't need to get anywhere near fission.

Next time you'll beat them for sure if you just don't worry about techs after about liberalism and nationalism!

Not even the Electricity -> Radio -> Mass Media line? Those are usually the last three techs I research in a culture game.

Well it's a bit of a trade off between the beakers required to get to mass media plus the hammers required to build the broadcast towers (or the Eiffel Tower) against the actual benefit those bonuses will get you in the turns left in the game set up against the culture you'll pour into your three cities by ignoring all that and cranking the culture slider high as soon as you've got liberalism and nationalism. Going for the broadcast towers is a huge investment.

And yeah, I went for Mass media before switching to 100%... I think that was a mistake now, but It usually works in monarch!

Also... that game was just so frustrating... I lost 2 wonders 1 turn away from being built!!! Anyhow... I guess I can only laugh now ^_^
