My feeling is that a patch will be released soonish. Hopefully this week or next. There are things that need to be mended on Mac and the pantheon exploit needs to be removed for MP sake.
What is this pantheon exploit?

It may be. I know ruins appear where important battles occurred. But razed cities should be something a bit more special.
By the way always defended there should be a reason to maybe raze a citie. Currently it is just a bad game decission that you only take when you are so dominant and bored, that do not want another city to manage. Maybe getting a tech and more gold from the razed city and absorve the population (maybe give the player an option for a not genocide city removal). Also, still in need for a puppet option. Letting the AI, control the city as a protectorate of sorts that can rebel if you do poorly.
Also maybe tall vs wide, can be done just considering the option to build megalopolys, with an extra ring, and a city center that grows into more than one hex, or something by the sorts. That allows for more developement, more production, more population, some more expansion on the map with some oportunities to build districts and wonders, but not more managent.
Wait, what’s broken? I’m working on Robespierre just fine at least. The modding tools are currently broken as well.

And he will try and conquer it all the same.
Last Saturday I had an interesting, but possibly totally pointless conversation with a friend who told me that he bought an nVidia graphics card recently and that it came with voucher for "the next civ game" on Steam.
I confirmed that it was NOT Civ VI or Gathering Storm.
The story seemed sketchy, like I didn't think that nVidia gave vouchers for future games... but... Civ VII hype?
The friend in question is not a gamer per se, so I don't know how much credence to give the story, but it's at least a story.

Speculation: Would it be possibe that your friend got swiped a very OLD never before opened card box ?
and the the 'new' civ game they're talking about was GS, or even the vanilla CIV 6 ?
*** EDIT: Sorry just re-read your post saying you checked if it was GS... ***

Whether the story is true or not... The next civ game is not likely to be VII.
Truthfully, I'd love to see another Col remake based on Civ VI that ACTUALLY includes Portugal and is deeper than the IV remake (which admittedly I still enjoy greatly).Good point, there's likely an interim spin-off that would come first, whether it be Civ: Beyond Earth 2, or Civ:Ages of Mythology, or Civ:We reskin civs as elves and dwarves and give apostles a few spells and call it fantasy

I also really wouldn't mind a Civ BE 2 because they had so much potential once Rising Tide came out and they kind of abandoned it, which made me sad. Luckily I found the CODEX mod which feels like an unofficial second expansion and actually made the game so immensely playable that I was hooked on it again recently.
