[GS] Future Update?

My feeling is that a patch will be released soonish. Hopefully this week or next. There are things that need to be mended on Mac and the pantheon exploit needs to be removed for MP sake.

What is this pantheon exploit?

If I am not mistaken, you may close the pantheon choosing window just as you pick pantheon, causing it to remain and being able to choose again. It stacks. Possibly infinite amount of infinitely stacked pantheons. Like +500 Production to Fishing Boats alongside +500 Great Scietist Points from Campuses with Lib etc.

EDIT: Here around 12:00

It may be. I know ruins appear where important battles occurred. But razed cities should be something a bit more special.

By the way always defended there should be a reason to maybe raze a citie. Currently it is just a bad game decission that you only take when you are so dominant and bored, that do not want another city to manage. Maybe getting a tech and more gold from the razed city and absorve the population (maybe give the player an option for a not genocide city removal). Also, still in need for a puppet option. Letting the AI, control the city as a protectorate of sorts that can rebel if you do poorly.

Also maybe tall vs wide, can be done just considering the option to build megalopolys, with an extra ring, and a city center that grows into more than one hex, or something by the sorts. That allows for more developement, more production, more population, some more expansion on the map with some oportunities to build districts and wonders, but not more managent.

I have very intimate knowledge of how this system works in Civ V, as I had to read the source code to figure it out when I faked it for the Beothuk mod. I don't expect that it has changed much in Civ VI as from what I can tell, they kept systems as much the same as possible if they didn't have to change them.
The simplified version is that each tile has a score of how active it has been in battles, with each fight giving +1 score and each kill being +5, plus +10 for barb camps and "happy hut" ruins, and +25 for razed cities. These numbers are unlikely to be accurate.

Then when it's time to place the antiquity sites, it goes through each area looking for the highest number. When it finds it it places the tile and then reduces all nearby tiles' scores by 15 for adjacent, 10 for next ring, 5 for next ring, and 3 for next ring. A tile with a negative score will never get a ruin. So it is rare for two (let alone 3) adjacent tiles to ever get ruins -- but if you had a choke point that was the site of nonstop combat it could happen.

This is super over-simplified but you can see the point.

On topic! Finally!
Last Saturday I had an interesting, but possibly totally pointless conversation with a friend who told me that he bought an nVidia graphics card recently and that it came with voucher for "the next civ game" on Steam.
I confirmed that it was NOT Civ VI or Gathering Storm.
The story seemed sketchy, like I didn't think that nVidia gave vouchers for future games... but... Civ VII hype?
The friend in question is not a gamer per se, so I don't know how much credence to give the story, but it's at least a story.

Wait, what’s broken? I’m working on Robespierre just fine at least.

The XP1 and XP2 asset dependencies are busted. https://forums.civfanatics.com/thre...ows-expansion-1-or-expansion-2-assets.652556/

Curiously, the "shared" assets are fine. I know there are workarounds to still view them, I'm getting errors when the mod tries to cook those assets so as far as I can tell they can't be used. I could be wrong about that, but at any rate the dependencies are definitely broken.

Sorry, but this seems like nonesense. The game has not been announced yet, so no way Nvidia would make such a deal. Also, how long would this friend have to wait for their game? : P
It's easy enough to check though, so why don't you get some proof. Also, I recently bought an Nvidia card and got Call of Duty (unfortunately), and I don't think they have any Civ promotions running (which is also easy to check). Also also, isn't Civ generally supported by AMD?

I put the chances of that at zero :P.

Speculation: Would it be possibe that your friend got swiped a very OLD never before opened card box ?
and the the 'new' civ game they're talking about was GS, or even the vanilla CIV 6 ?

*** EDIT: Sorry just re-read your post saying you checked if it was GS... ***

Given that the friend in question is not a PC gamer, this is probably the most likely theory I've heard so far. It could very much be Vanilla Civ 6. I checked for Gathering Storm but not Vanilla.

You can no longer attach assets to Unit Attachment points in the Asset Previewer since the September 2019 update. Makes creating Unit Portraits hard.

Whether the story is true or not... The next civ game is not likely to be VII.

Good point, there's likely an interim spin-off that would come first, whether it be Civ: Beyond Earth 2, or Civ:Ages of Mythology, or Civ:We reskin civs as elves and dwarves and give apostles a few spells and call it fantasy
Truthfully, I'd love to see another Col remake based on Civ VI that ACTUALLY includes Portugal and is deeper than the IV remake (which admittedly I still enjoy greatly).

I also really wouldn't mind a Civ BE 2 because they had so much potential once Rising Tide came out and they kind of abandoned it, which made me sad. Luckily I found the CODEX mod which feels like an unofficial second expansion and actually made the game so immensely playable that I was hooked on it again recently.

I'd love to see a Col remake that doesn't require a total conversion mod to be playable.

I mean, with a total conversion mod the game is great, don't get me wrong...

I don't think anyone can say what is "likely" after VI unless you work for Firaxis.

I'd love a colonization remake or a fantasy version of Civ. Can't say i'd care for BE2 (not really a sci-fi guy, didn't buy BE and don't have any interest).

What is the next date in q1 2020 when we could have a chance to here something about the next patch or expansion by firaxis?
Probably nothing this week again?

firaxis must want to fix the pantheon exploit at some point.
