was there any previous topic with 200 pages where we did not had anything at all , not a single piece of communication from firaxis or any official statement regarding?

The DLC05 anticipation thread grew to 204 pages before we got news of its content. I don't recall if there were any patches or other communications during the course of the thread.
I am quite curious as to how covid 19 measures will affect the rollout of future content. A game like this is a perfect activity for waiting out an epidemic, so I could see sales of new content potentially going well. On the other hand, there might be slowdowns in polishing off both the new content and marketing material, and they might not want to look like they are trying to profit off the situation.
while working from home isn't as productive as in the office, i would imagine they can still get a lot done from home. All you need is a file sharing program. You can still do meetings via various programs. You can still test builds. Perhaps with things being slower, it will give them more time to test and feel things out. Never a bad thing in what is a crunch time industry.
Definitely, most of the tech industry can (and has) switch to remote work quite easily. And it's pretty standard to bring the laptop with you on things like extended holidays.
I work for a company that is mostly remote anyways, so it's very easy for us. If Firaxis is not wfh as part of their usual day to day, it will be more disruptive. Not having a home office setup, not being used to videoconferencing, maybe not having necessary office machines/servers accessible from remote. And during the current events, having kids at home possibly. But work can still get done pretty well.
If they still have VO work to record, that might be a no-go now though.
Living in the Netherlands i cant support the economy by much. All i do is do groceries 1x per week and update my steam collection (actually i am saving money for those 50% or more discounts up till now. Looking at you three kingsoms total war). Beside all those automatical bank withdrawals off course (rent, energie, netflix etc).
going out, sports (tennis/chess), eating outside, shopping. All have been put on hold till this is over. Visiting friends and family has been cut back to minimal. I do walk for an hour a day each morning.
Let me tell you, if THIS was a way to end development of civ6 then I boycott announcement and any news about civ7. At least until release if they somehow manage to make this game amazingly right.
I gave the example of music production. How do you get around not being able to put an orchestra together? It's unlikely they would record the instruments separately.
There's probably other stuff involved which requires close proximity.

When Eagle Pursuit says we are in terra incognita. My prediction skills what is going to happen are nonexistent at this point.
Lots of activity. Please, let Firaxis please drop the bomb within 3 weeks or so. With a packed 10 minute video from Anton or Ed explaining the key parts.
