Welcome back to the James Goodall hour. Tonight we are talking about Baseball, the past time of the greatest nation in the world, America. So in the studio to talk about the great game are former pitcher of the New Townsville Heat, Matt Gonzales and former catcher Ian Hughes.
JG:good Evening Gentlemen
IH:Thanks for having us on the show.
JG:I must say that you to had such a great understanding of the game with each other that lead to so many great victories that we were nearly unstoppable with Matt o on the mound. So what was it like to be behind the mound catching his pitches?
IH:It was an absolute pleasure
MG:Stop flattering me.
IH:Well with the quality of his pitching it made my work so much easier to do. All I had to do was call the pitch and he would do the rest. He made me look good.
MG:Well that is because you knew what pitch I should be throwing each time I needed to get the right pitch and it was magic. Few batters stood a chance.
JG:Who would you say was your toughest opponent to pitch against?
MG:There are just so many great hitters in the league that I could almost say all of them, but the few that stood to mind are Barry Bonds, he always knew which pitch I was throwing and hit it out of the ball park. Derek Jeter is another one I had trouble with, thankfully I only faced him for a few years.
JG:Yeah those series with the Yankees are very familiar with the audience. They just always seemed to have that quality to beat us.
IH: Yeah it is frustrating that we could never get past them, but you do have to say that they had a fantastic team. We did get close to beating them in a series a few times, but they just had the quality to beat you.
JG: so what do you guys do right now?
IH:I have kept myself in the game and I am currently the catching coach at the Heat, so I went back home after a few years enjoying retirement, I just knew I could not leave the game totally.
MG:I am now in the real estate business, but not in town, but back home in Puerto Rico. I had a great time here in America, but I needed to go back home and I was delighted for the chance to come back here and talk about the great time I had here. But I am enjoying my time back home with my family.
JG:How are your bodies holding after al those years in the game?
IH:Mine is holding up quite well since i had few injuries in my time in the game so I can't complain.
MG:I am felling better but occasionally I do get some pains in my let elbow, but the surgery that I just recently had is starting to clear the pain up after all those year of pitching. The rest of my body is doing fine. But I do have a question for. What was it like throwing the ceremonial first pitch a few years ago? I did here about that over the grapevine, even all the way over in Puerto Rico.
JG:Oh boy, I knew that was eventually going to be brought up
As you both realise that I am not an athlete and I was never good at sports and I was quite rightly picked last in every team, so that did not bode well for me do the first pitch. So basically I threw it right into the in front of me. I am sure that Ian was laughing on the bench when it happened.IH:I sure was. It was one of the funniest things I have ever seen on a baseball field.
JG:Thanks for rubbing it in.

So now with the two great men gone I have some great news to share and that is very good news. As you all know I have not been the mayor's greatest fan, so with great pleasure I can say that the mayor is not longer in charge of town because she is dead. Joy of Joys.

I actually have it as a personal goal to become the Mayor. I figured since the Mayor was trusted that I'd never have any shot at this goal, so I've pretty much abandoned it. I've known for a while who the Mayor was, and I even spoke to the people who the mayor trusted, and revealed that it was my goal, and that I would not be pursuing it. If you'd be so kind as to allow me to become Mayor, that will be useful. I would also like to see if the Mayor has any useful powers, as I didn't have any before.
