Everyone is happy to shout abuse at both sides, but can anyone tell me a solution they think could work?



I think TIME is the only way this will get solved, similar to Northern Ireland. Making a big glass crater out of it isn't going to help!

Unless we can assume we'd would be in some important position to influence things, the discussion would be pointless. A mere anonymous citizen has no power to solve that 60-year-old crisis, and I very much doubt someone here will come up with a revolutionary idea.
Then the question becomes "what you'd have [this actor in the conflict] do to solve the problem?". Even then I think that as things stand the only single individuals with the power to push some solution would be the israeli PM (and that'd depend on his political support) and the president of the USA. Anyone else would have its hands tied by circumstances and very low probability of not having any plan derailed. The palestinian side, in particular, is a mess, and I think that is no accident.

PROJECT CODENAME CONFUSION

1. Rename the entire region to a name determined by a reality TV show held in the UK
2. Increase taxes in the U.S. by a significant amount
3. Use this money to supply every Israeli and every Palestinian with a house in the suburbs, a nice car, one or two pets, easy access to free recreational facilities, 52 inch 1080p lcd tvs, hottubs, etc., etc.
4. Police the area with Japanese "soldiers" who also happen to own kareoke bars
5. Convince everyone that bacon is good and should be consumed from time to time

I kinda feel bad for the Americans to have to be paying for all this stuff.. but.. they already support Israel anyway, and this money could instead be used as part of the budget - since you don't really need any weapons in this scheme, cause everyone's living a good life, having a good time, eating bacon, etc.

Maybe Russia, the EU, China, and the Middle East should be forced to participate financially. Yeah, that sounds more fair.

But yeah, that's what started off Russia...a group of Norse overlords who conquered large tracts of Eastern Europe and had control of a vastly larger population of Slavs. Those Norse were Swedish, though, and by the time Norway and Scotland were having the aforementioned conflict and partial occupation, they were more Slavic than Swedish...
