I think this is very telling and ironic of where we are in American history, for better or for worse. Many will view this as shameful and not befitting of the one who guided us through that conflict (especially considering the fact that it's exactly the same treatment George III got), while others will rejoice and see this as a new opportunity to rebel just like those many years ago in order to create their own "utopian" ideal, whatever that is.
Not really, but the existential horror of a candidate who'd unleash militarized police on reports really should help people decide to.
At the same time individual organizations are expressing concern for the US's mishandling of the BLM concerns, and are changing policies.

But did it really require Trump to make a bad photo-op for that to happen? Most of the organizations (which I'm assuming some of which you are referring to are corporations) would have changed their policies regardless the moment things started to heat up (by which I'm referring to the riots themselves). Most of the mishandling was done by local governors who activated their guardsmen. Trump only activated the guard within D.C. , and as far as I know the only direct result of that is D.C. pushing for statehood (which would only force them to contend that their new governor likely would have activated the guard as well if put in the same situation.).
"Need"? You're right, I cannot put my finger on any contingent point. But it helped cement the concerns regarding the top-down rot in more than a few people. The BLM movement is intrinsically tied to the concept top-down political complicity in maintaining the bad systems.
They'll complain about it and then in 5 months they'll vote for a government who won't try to douse fires with gasoline.
SpoilerBut in my humble opinion... :
Given all the horrifically brutal snuff films that American police and racists have created for us this year alone.. after all that.... if someone is seriously swayed away from the movement against that evil by some old f-ing statues being knocked over then go ahead get out. Good riddance. To hell with their alleged "support." They know where their side is.
she likened the vandalism she received to domestic terrorism she didn't state it was domestic terrorism, she has never characterized BLM in general as domestic terrorism.
1. The three guys hanging out at the base of the statue, clearly right in the path of where it is going to fall... the black dude looks like he knows its not a good spot and the two white dudes look like they are trying to stop him from getting out of the way saying "no, no, just stay here... right under it... it'll be fine... just relax and let it happen"
2. The group of kids hanging out on what appears to be a pedestal of a recently toppled statue. They look like they are posing for a graduation selfie not attending a revolution rally.
3. The totally out of place family of natives in the corner... why are they even there? It looks like they just arrived and are like "Ummmm... Oooooh kaay.... we just came to trade for some flour but y'all seem busy soooo... tomorrow maybe?"
I'll read the article... but at this point, the desperation to protect the beloved Confederate stuff is so high, that I'm not willing to dismiss the possibility that this is a false flag operation anyway.
In other news... there is currently a renewed fight to change the Mississippi State flag... which of course is the sole remaining flag that shamelessly contains the infamous Confederate battle emblem. There are other flags that still contain obvious, but subtle nods to the Confederacy, like Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Arkansas, North Carolina, Texas, Tennessee and Missouri, with Georgia being the 2nd worst, having essentially adopted a clear adaptation of the less famous, official Confederate flag, as their emblem.

apologists only hurt the case for people who condone unregulated violence against the citizenry, agree to disagree with the jury on Zimmerman who now signs ******* skittle bags as a sign of his killing Martin. You know cause shooting black kids is like the ultimate trophy sport. . . so ******* gross.
