Let's see... was it the Ostrogoths? Or did the Visigoths continue thru Iberia? As you can tell, I haven't surfed for the answer... :o
 
Nope, the Ostrogoths ravaged thru Italy and the Visigoths stopped and settled down in Iberia. It was another Germanic tribe.

The Franks under Charlemagne subdued this Germanic tribe which occupied Northern Italy. Name this tribe.

2)Which Holy Roman Emperor has been excommunicated in its rivalry with the Pope.

3) Who was Hitler's Foreign Secretary/Minister ?

4)Who was the longest ruling German chancelor ?

5) How many laender is there in present day Germany (bonus for naming them all)

2 - Is it Charles IV?

3 - Hess?

5 - ??? What is a laender? ;)

If you mean the Bundstag, its 669 currently.

9. Let's start with with northwest and move around. Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Lichtenstein (sp?), the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Poland. (I probably missed one...) but I'll guess 8.

The Laender are the state that compose Federal Germany (ex Bayern, or Bavaria in English).

Before unification, was it 11 in W. Germany? For some reason, this sticks out in my mind... :confused:

1. Aachen, in Germany...it's a beautiful place also! (I visited it!)
2. Ferdinand II? (Was there a Ferdinand II?) ;)
3. Ribbentrop
4. Bismarck?
5. No way I'm going to name them...but I think there were 11 on W. G. and 9? in E. G...so 20?
