GG 1: Religious Fanatics

Where's everybody, out seeing Star Wars?

Exsanguination, I don't see a Save from your turn...Sealman, are you around?

sorry man, didnt notice. I swear I posted it... alright I'm at school but I'll post it in an hr or so

The Pyramids were built for a religious purpose, just not a christian purpose, It seems a shame to lose out on one of the best wonders in the game when in fact it seems to fit.
Just my 2 cents.

I would concur, IF the Pyramids had a religious effect in the game.
But it doesn't; it eliminates the need for Granaries.

Since the game is not an exact duplication of history (obviously), we go by what the Firaxians feel about their Wonders, not what the Humans originally felt
:sheep:

I'm fairly sure the Pyramids are considered a Religious Wonder and we should be going after it. However, it's one of the more expensive wonders to build, I generally prefer to wait for someone else to finish it and just go take it from them if they're close. In this game, I know the English & French are building it now. I suspect the French won't have time to finish it before we start picking on them, but if the English finish it, we'll have it soon enough.

We could switch Kyoto over to the Pyramids and we'd possibly get it, but at the cost of the Oracle and a good number of turns that we could be cranking troops from Kyoto which we're going to need to "enlighten" to the heathen French.

Religious wonders:
Oracle
Pyramids
Colossus
Sistine Chapel
Johann Sebastian Bach's Cathedral (JS bach's).

Small wonders with the religious tag:
Heroic Epic.
Forbidden Palace.
Dunno what this tag does on small wonders.
BTW, guy, why didnt you use Civ3 edit to make your civ Religious, nohting else, and start with CBurial and Mysticism?

If Pyramids are religious then build them. I didn't realize that. I always thought they were industrious, because they really have no effect on happiness and Industrious civs get the ability to build them ASAP.

I'll grab the game tonight if it is in fact my turn. What is everyone's take on the Pyramids. Should I switch something over to them???

If I do not hear or see anything by the time I get home, I will just make my own decision but sometimes it is good to hear the input of the other priests.

I think Oracle should be the priority, then Pyramids...but like it was said, if the French build the Pyramids... :hammer:

As it stands, I'm confident we'll land the Oracle and the Colossus. That's 2 of the 3 early religious wonders.

Changing build orders around could result in us building all three or none of the early wonders. (1-2 is the likely outcome).

With the English seeming to have the lead in the Pyramids, I'd prefer to let them finish it and go take it from them. If the variant requries us to be building it, I'd switch Kyoto to the Pyramids after the Oracle or in the costal collossus city. At that point, it'll likely be a good prebuild for the hanging gardens....

Your choice though.

I think we can pass the Pyramids, as in we do not have to build them. We could use them as prebuild for HG, which is definetely required.

Not able to play tonight since my wife wants to go out and catch a movie tonight.
I will grab and play tomorrow unless anyone cares to jump in front.

I'm next, but I'm up in another game, so I don't mind waiting a day :D

I sure hope it's Star Wars you're going to see...

Star Wars or Spiderman, .... or else... :slay: :king:

Nope, HG is Commercial and Industrious. My france game got it, started golden age. no other wonders. Pyramids are religious and industrious, same as egypt is, thats why that gives a golden age.
HG is not religious. Pyramid is. You can check the editor if you like.
