Ghandhi (EC) Emperor Cookbook! Let the fun begin.

when's the cutoff for voting? I've got a couple of games I'm trying to finish up. Man, this civving keeps one busy. Priorities Priorities

There is a general misconception that "rushing" one of the AI's even if succesfull gives you an obvious immediate edge.

Spoiler :
I played from my own save. HA killed mongolia who were so nice to build mids for me.

Monty went next...
You still need tow ork after rush but one less moron and few more cities make life easier.

Lets wait and see how end of voting goes. The rule was only put in place to stop people not voting so there save would win a round. I do think you learn more by looking at the saves personally. ;)

Ah ok, excuse me...

Sunday 6pm GMT assuming I stay awake!

Can i vote for nonrushing too? Would be a pleassure to kick them again:lol:

Why dont you shadow with CH yank game for a laugh! 3 angry neighbours should be right up your street. hehe

My Votes:

1. Theboot - I like the City Placement in this one, and think it would be fun to start from.
2. Yakidk - Early Toku Takeout? Sold!
3. joyodongd - Seems to be positioned for action.

Sorry for missing you Lymond. My oversight was clearly because I thought your save was so awesome that it must have been Sid Meier playing in disguise.

My Votes -

3 pts - MJG5591 - Basically what i wanted my game to be like, good city placement and in a good position

2 pts - CPBE - Stonehenge, Settler soon to get corn/fp by toku, good exploration

1 pt - Yakidk - Nice rush to take out Toku, hated by everyone, no tech rate, should be an interesting game to follow through with

Does anyone know if Sid plays this game in his spare time? He could be playing this cookbook.:eek:

Where in the game do I look up WHEOOHRN, without using mods? And what is that short for again? If I remember from reading here, it means an AI is currently building up for a planned assault on...someone.

We Have Enough On Our Hands Right Now = WHEOOHRN

I don't know why you want to make your life more difficult than it needs to be, but to each his own. You can check for WHEOOHRN mode when you mouse over the declare war on X in the trade screen for various leaders. It will be in red text. This is also true with the BUG mod, you both need to have met at least another AI for you to be able to tell that they are in WHEOOHRN mode.

Why play on Deity instead of Settler? For me, I like to challenge what I am doing. Modding in short cuts before I've learned how to do it on my own is...not what I choose to play for. Perhaps at some point, when I feel comfortable with what I'm doing, I'll look for tools from outside of the game interface that make it easier. My personal opinion about mods aside, thank you very much for helping to explain WHEOOHRN to me.

P.S. - I drive stick.

We will go ahead and vote for 2-3 days. Hopefully finish by Saturday/Sunday or when all that have played have voted. Please rank your top 3 in order.

First place 3 points.
Second place 2 points
Third place. 1 point.

My Votes:
1. John Edwards - Very good economy, with lots of ability to expand fast. Switching the religion, and grabbing the barb and copper cities would put us in a strong position.
2. Grymloq - Good potential for a war against Monty or Khan soon.
3. CBPE - Good set up, and the GP soon can be used either for supporting the economy as we expand, or to Shrine Monty's holy city after we take it.

There were 4 saves that I would say are already won (unless there's a runaway Mansa alone somewhere). All four of these were early rush saves, unsurprisingly.

Yakidk - Wow. This game is won. Toku dead, troops left, and an ok economy.
Kjellea - Khan gone, lots of military left. Easy to clean up Monty, then Toku with Cats.
GumBolt - Took Monty's capital, but he's not dead yet. Missing the eastern copper was bad, but easily fixable.
TheBoot - Monty's almost dead, with more than enough troops to finish the job. After that, Khan has built a bunch of nice wonders for you. Economy seems borderline collapse, though.

What I'm curious about from these people is when, exactly, did you decide to rush? As soon as you met the neighbors? When you found horses/copper?
I'd wanted to do a rush as soon as I saw Toku's capital, but the copper seemed to far away.

My notes on all the saves:

HC, Monty founded religions, spread to Brennus, Khan.
Bad diplo situation, because of religion. Switching out should clear that up.
Khan has the Great Wall. No other wonders/shrines available.
Monty is quite weak (only a 0.8 power ratio vs 4 warriors!)

Maximumpain - 4 cities. Barracks, granary in Delhi only.
Horses, no copper. Missed Eastern copper, but can still get it.

Round will close in about 8 mins apart from my somewhat controversial vote to follow. ;)

Now I do feel Yakidk save is going to result in a rather early victory even if all the AI do hate the Indians in his save. So much land and so many workers to chop out a huge army and Stone Henge!!

I do applaud his great efforts but I think we would all agree on a best save basis next round it would not be much of a challenge.

I therefore give the following votes.

3 votes to MJG
2 to CHYank. Purely as his save would be interesting to play on just to fend off the AI.
1 to Lymond. never forgotten i assure you!!!

Overall it will be more interesting to play from a more peaceful save and this in turn will giive those moving up to emperor a better challenge next round.

This makes MJG5591 the winner of this round by 1 vote. I will post the usual statement in a bit. We will play on his save to 400ad.

The next round will be played over the next 3-4 days with voting over Thursday-Sunday. (this may change on time needs)

The round will finish Thursday1800hr GMT.

The next round will be played from 1500bc-400ad. Lets get playing people.

Again congratulations to MJG5591 who has the chosen save for the next round.
