I very much enjoyed most of the war saves. To the best of my knowledge, they're all very strong games. However, I'm rather biased towards non-warfare games due to the type of settings and play style I usually use. That, combined with Gumbolt's suggestion to look at using a peaceful save for the learning experience, biased my votes.
I liked the saves turned in by Lymond, CBPE and Harbour Boy (amongst several others) because of their flexibility for continued expansion while still in peace.
If this map was set up with the intention of testing the limits diplomacy in an unfavorable position then I'd love to try Maximumpain's save.
A few things, of which there are many more, that I suck at: deficit economies, REX'ing, watching and/or using the power graph, specialist economies, tech trading (see specialist economies), blocking, fog busting (Great Wall!!!), SoD'ing and more.
