GMG - video playing Japan - Tech tree!!

The tech tree looks so empty now that a lot of the old techs have been moved to the civics tree. But I like the split a lot.

Is it just me, or do the Eurekas for the later techs seem extremely easy to get and therefore underwhelming / gimmicky? I mean, building 3 tanks or 2 mines is hardly an achievement when you have a dozen well-developed cities (which we're going to have, right? Right? :scared:).

This video also reveals the names of Victoria and Catherine's agendas. They're 'Sun Never Sets' (I would assume hostility towards people on other continents) and 'Black Queen' respectively. We also see that 'Darwinist' and 'Money Grabber' are two of the potential hidden agendas.

Actually, a number of the later techs have Eurekas "only with spy/Great Scientist"....which mean spies can get Eurekas.

With some of the simple eurekas being "build 3 tanks" or "build 3 somethingelse" or even "have civic XY", I am optimistic that science is not so ultra-important in CivVI.
Afterall with those you can research with hammers (build eurekas) or culture (have civics) instead of beakers.

Not too happy with the tech tree. "Stirrups", "Castle", "Sanitation", really? I thought Civ5 Tech was already weird with "Fertilizer", "Railroad", "Refrigeration", and "Penicillin"...

The whole tech tree:goodjob:

As MadDjinn says, Stirrups are both quite important and also a technology in a strict sense. Astrology, by contrast, is certainly not.

Well but the whole point of eurekas is to better tie techs with certain play style so that players are not getting techs arbitrarily but are getting techs that make sense for their situation. So I don't think that eurekas need to be difficult, they just need to be gameplay specific which they are.

I'm surprised "military tactics" are a technology. I would've expected them to be a cultural achievement.
