Too much politics makes Elgalad a dull boy, so hurray! Time for some meaningless fluff topic that everyone can have fun with.

I dont really have any favorites, but I did like these five a lot..

1. Catch-22
2. Kelly's Heroes
3. Eye of the Needle
4. Enemy at the Gates
5. Windtalkers

I wanted to add the Keep to that list, but it isnt really about the war, rather a human drama/supernatural thriller that happens to be set during it.

Curious about what movies you all like that were set in that period. :)

Dirty Dozen, Great Escape, Saving Private Ryan, Bridge Over the River Kwai, Guns of Navaronne...

Kelly's Heroes for fun, Saving Private Ryan for fantasy and Band of Brothers for reality :)

(and yes I know BOB is not a film) :p

I always liked that movie Battle of Britain along with Das Boot and Patton.

The Longest Day, and The Battle of the Bulge, are a couple more classics that haven't been mentioned.

Midway with Charlton Heston

Oh yeah... :D
That's a great classic.

And what about Tora Tora Tora - anybody mentioned that yet? Not to be missed!

Also, I guess we have to mention the modern Pearl Harbor movie... :mischief:

Objective, Burma! (1945) with Errol Flynn as Capt. Nelson
They Were Expendable (1945) with John Wayne

... okay I'll stop now.

Oh come on now, what other WWII movie also so effectively doubles as a make-out-with-your-chick-flick?? :p

I'm not good at making out with my eyes bleeding.

But now you mention it, how about "The english patient"?
