I found this news clipping from 1983 (I edited it a bit):

[A rock musician] was ... at a local theater when he decided to light up a cigarette. A gruff security guard came over and demanded that it be extinguished due to fire department regulations. [He] complied and then left for the restroom, where he lit up another. A little while later, he sauntered back into the show, inadvertantly carrying the cigarette back into the forbidden zone. The same guard then came over, pulled the cigarette from his mouth and pushed the rail-thin rocker into his seat. A sparring match followed, and soon a fight erupted. After the incident, [he] said he got a better understanding of how kids are treated at concerts and deplored the use of “goon squad” tactics under the guise of “security.”

Note that this was a private security guard, and that the rock musician wasn't doing anything violent or that could become violent (until the guard pushed him), and that the rock musician is not big and burly (I don't know about the guard).

What are your thoughts on this? I'd ask more specific questions but I'm tired and need sleep. Please don't discuss the identity of the rock musician as that'll derail things.

An innocent flower being pushed unto his seat is really heartbreaking.

Are you joking? The "Rock star" was an AS... "butthole". Smoking indoors here is against the law. Security warns Mr butthole of the fire code. Mr butthole goes to hide in the bathroom to smoke because hes too cool to follow the laws like the rest of us. Remembering that key fact, walks out of the bathroom still smoking. Then he goes off on how he never knew that kids have to follow the law too.

Now one does have to ask, does he believe adults don't have to follow laws, or is he just so far gone in his rockstar world, that he is a "why don't they just eat cake" type of guy?
