GOTM #7 has arrived!!!

my first gotm, my first world map, it's a bit cramped, i'm heading for north america, lets hope i'm first. i reckon i'll follow it up with an historical english trick and colonise south america, africa, india and australia as wel, only to get humbled in the end.

I don't know if it is only me BUT Cheat MOde is on in GOTM7 game. It doesn't show up in the civ score window but you can cheat and it never says you cheat.

I discovered this when all of a sudden the wonder I was working on suddenly "poof" was completed.

Did you cheat on a game you played before this one and didn't restart Civ? I thought that when you cheat, exit and load another (or the same) game without restarting Civ, the cheat tag is still on. But I say again, this is merely a guess.

What I do know for sure is that cheat mode sometimes appears to be turned on when you don't want it. Anyway, I can assure you the cheat mode is turned off in the downloadable savegame.

KIttenOFchaos - I did not mean to imply anyone was cheating. I believe that 99% if not 100& of those playing gotm would not even be checking the cheat mode.

some very weird things are happening in my game which might relate only to me.
If I can find the cause I will post.

Damn - 26 frigats I can only dream at this point. Good luck!

Just deleted civ 11 and re-installed and the cheat mode is NOT on. The problem was mine. So very sorry. I still con't know what caused it.

I was having some real strange problems. Emperor became Empress,two civs of same color (at same time), errors in number of turns for advance (said 17 but only 6) etc,

Matrix - I think that's it. After I was killed by the Celts I used cheat mode to open up the map. Later, I deleted all and re-downloaded the GOTM.

But even when I clicked it off, deleted the game and restarted GOTM from the download zip file - cheat mode was back on in the background. That is why I thought there was a problem with tne download. Damn strange!

Anyway, no more problem.

Hey this is a great GOTM (and my first one) - and on king, well tooo easy, Ive now completley wiped out the spanish (by 1050 AD) and have settled in northa AMerica and am attacking the mongols, however the chinese and babs were wiped out early by the mongols and the americans have africa and the zulus are in north America with me - im going for world conquest by 1900 (ive kept teh celts by the way though they've now settled in south America)

If you are just going to play GOTM 7 for fun, then have at it.

If you want to be playing one right now and have it count along with everyone else, be sure you are playing GOTM 8.
