Preturn, 350 AD (150):
I press ctrl + RTY ... oops, it's civ 3 not 4! Ok, so ctrl + G to show grids it is.
We have
25 cities, actually the top one!
Our 54 units consist of 18 smokers, 8 spears, 16 horses, 8 trebs, 4 jav throwers.
Our next victim China: 9 cities, fighting Russia, as ignorant as us, republic, and our military is
AVERAGE. Their only resources are dye and silk. Man, luxury is a sin ...
Russia: 4 cities?! Oh, they are fighting every one except Aztecs and us! It will be a great time to buy tech for gpt when they become OCC! ... Is this exploitive or not?
Aztecs: 19 cities, the top dog.
Arabia: 10 cities and 2886 gold, ha!
America: 16 cities, the 2nd strongest guy, and we are selling gem to them with 15 turns left.
Babylon: 12 cities, exporting ivory to us. How come they are giving ivory for nothing?!
One MM thing to emphasize: scientist is better than taxman when doing research.
Our main forces including all the trebs are near Tientsin which is on grassland, some other horses without trebs are near Chengdu which is on hill ...
Anyway, declare war to China! ... Wait, they have units inside out border. So let's demand their 37 gold, and they happily pay. Then demand a city until they get furious, boot ... But they don't declare war. Interesting, so we have to gift them war happiness!
Move the SoD of 8 trebs, 1 cat, 5 horses, and 2 javs into a hill near Tientsin, and spot a regular longbow around.
Send a group of 4 horses and 1 spear towards Tatung.
Change some buildings. In general, temple is not needed at this stage, and not even for next stage, because we will build library.
Lower science to 50%. End up with 20% lux, 41 cash and +8 gpt.
IT: Chinese galley drops a spear near Palenque. Our people are still very happy and expand palace.
360 AD (151):
A new treb from Lazapa goes to bomb the spear, doing 1 HP damage. Drag a horse near Bombay back to fight, but he retreats. Drag another, and we win.
Bomb Tientsin, reveal 2 spears and redline both. Elite horse kills the 1st one
flawlessly. Jav thrower attaks the 2nd one but dies ... Redline the promoted spear. Good that we bring 2 javs. Attack again, and we are
golden!
We capture
Tientsin with a happy Chinese. Bomb and kill a nearby longbow.
The small group attack
Tatung: 1st horse retreats, 2nd kills regular spear, 3rd kills regular spear, capture a worker and autoraze it.
The Aztec troops keep blocking us, anyway send a mini SoD of 1 cat, 3 horses, and 1 spear towards Chengdu, and all of our remaining horses.
Since our people are so happy, drop lux to 10%.
Emm, a huge waste for GA since so many tiles are irrigated ...
Gunpowder becomes due in 2 turns with +41 gpt.
IT: Another Chinese galley comes. A spear goes out from Chengdu chasing empty Karachi.
Russia and Arabia sign peace.
370 AD (152):
Try to have literal defense along coast. Move trebs towards Chengdu, anyway they can't pass jungle to reach Xinjian. Bomb the spear from Chengdu.
Drop science to 50%.
IT: The galleys goes away.
We learn
gunpowder, chemistry in 12 turns.
380 AD (153):
Chengdu's border expands. Bomb the spear again, elite horse kills it.
We don't have saltpeter, but the nearest one is on a mountain between Chengdu and Hangchow!
Begin to build lib and court in some cities.
Chemistry is due in 9 turns with -8 gpt.
IT: Some Chinese units go to reinforce Chengdu. Disease strikes Tikal again.
390 AD (154):
We amass 8 horses near Chengdu, while its top defender is a regular spear. Although it's on a hill (not floodplain like Delhi!), I start to attack without artillery support.
The 1st horse retreats, revealing another regular spear. The 2nd horse kills it,
reaveling yet another. The 3rd retreats. The 4th wins. The 5th wins and we capture
Chengdu!
Ha, 3 longbows are threatening Dzbilchaltun, and 5 archers and 1 spear are just 1 step next to Chengdu. Good we attack in this turn.
Elite horse enters Dzbilchaltun and attacks longbow, but retreats. Another horse kills a longbow. But can't attack the other 2 because it will get exposed.
Have 3 horses left to deal with the SoD near Chengdu. The 1st one kills spear after bombardment. The 2nd retreats from archer. The 3rd one dies ... Move all the other guys into Chengdu.
Rush a settler in Piedras Negras for 80 gold to claim the salt.
IT: Longbow kills our spear in Dzbilchaltun. Our spear kills 2 archers in Chengdu before death. A spear on open defeats a longbow. The last archer is defeated by our horse. Then the last longbow kills our 3 HP elite horse in Dzbilchaltun.
Russia suggests RoP + MA vs. Babylon, surely you are joking, Mrs. Catherine!
Resistance in Chengdu is quelled. Disease strikes Tikal once again. Even so, people gladly expand our palace twice.
400 AD (155):
Interesting, we are defending 2 front cities only by horses!
Kill a spear near Tientsin who scares many of our workers to turtle into cities.
Our 4/5 elite horse in Chengdu kills a 2 HP longbow and flees into zbilchaltun, so that there are 3 units inside, facing 2 Chinese units nearby.
IT: Oh, the fight is intense! A 2 HP longbow dies in our horse, some archers attack our horses, some live and some die, and they use 2 spears to attack at last! ... And lose both.

A regular spear lands near Cuello
Lahore court -> treb.
410 AD (156):
Well, people begin to feel sad for war.
Bomb twice and elite jav erases the lander.
China is willing to talk, yet the only thing they want to (and could) give up is Nanking. Well, we want to get at least Hangchow.
Our main artillery force reach Chengdu at last, and they happily bomb the nearby 3 unit Chinese SoD. Attack using 3 horses, and we win. But a coward worker still dares not to go outside the city.
IT: Another 3 unit group goes near Chengdu. A bunch of smokers flee into Tientsin ... to smoke.
420 AD (157):
Redline the 1 spear and 2 archers, kill the spear, lose a 4 HP horse to a 1 HP archer ...

Redline this bastard again, and kill both. Go outside a little and kill 2 healing archers. We have a
strong army comparing to them!
IT: Lincoln wants territory map and 5 gold, here you go.
China drops a spear near Cuello, and
signs a MA against Aztecs (!) with Arabia. Wow, what are they thinking? Amusingly, the same thing also happend to India when I fought them ...
Capital lib -> horse.
Arabia builds Magellan.
430 AD (158):
The landing spear costs a horse but gets killed.
What, Hangchow now belongs to Aztecs?

China is doing 4CC, and Russia 2CC.
China is willing to pay Nanking and all their 221 gold (obviously from Arabia) for peace. I doubt whether we can be faster than Aztecs, but getting Xinjian would be great for its 3 dyes. There are a lot of jungles ahead, so that there is only one path for trebs! But let our riders (good not theirs!) just charge! A group of 7 horses begins their march.
IT: An Aztec cavalry shows up near Hangchow.
440 AD (159):
Clear a spear near Tientsin. March ...
IT: An Aztec mace is killed by Chinese archer, but Xinjian becomes green.
450 AD (160):
Clear another spear near Kaminaljuy. China is doing 3CC, but unfortunately they don't want to give up any city now. What to do? Should we go for Beijing, or sign peace now since it's likely Aztecs will beat us anyway? I pause here.
Chemistry is due in 2 turns with -6 gpt. Russia and Babylon don't know it, so we have some opportunity to trade, not to mention buying from OCC Russia ...
