A second thought is do we want 20 turns of peace to get back coal? The gaps in the rail-net are really hurting this war. We would squeeze a new border city and get 20 turns to get Commie running optimally.
 
One problem is that if we make peace, they will complete Apollo. Assuming they are mobilized, only if we make peace can they start the space ship. I would like to do some real damage to them if we possibly could - slow them down especially in research and perhaps take out the UN risk.

You have a very good point. I will wait for more comments. I just know these rail gaps are a royal pain, and some of our cities will be sub-optimal without coal. WTH did Egypt have to get all the spare coal.
 
First, my apologies to the team. RL raised a very ugly head on Thursday morning.

I think communism would be the best government for us, however we may want to remove a few cities to allow for higher populations in others.

Lee - how do you feel about building a city on the choke during war time? While it may be hard to defend at first, long term it will allow us to move up towards the coal.

We barely have the forces to kill the units at the choke. We simply have NO way to advance at this time.
 
I will finish this tonight with revolt to Commie, keep the war going, and go nuts trying to resolve the coal problem.
 
Ya, I was guessing that you hadn't been able to advance yet. The coal solution I suggested will take some time before it comes to fruition. It does mean eventually we get coal without needing to stop the war. Its not an ideal solution as we will have no rails for a while, but I don't like the other alternatives any better.

That is my whole problem. I at getting very frustrated trying to fight a modern war without the flexibility of a complete rail-net. We won't get the full benefit of Commie without laying rails in former Spain.

Part of me is dying to end the war just to get a clean rail-net.

I will stay at war with Egypt, but I don't see how we can do much damage.
I do swap some cities to stock exchange. We really could use the $50 in interest.
(IT) It takes a long time to watch all the Egyptian units move and bombard.

I am really surprised the Military Academy hasn't been built as it boasts the strength of our armies. Babylon will have the MA rushed.

Why do some of our cavalry armies still have 3 units? I will try to get them all up to 4 units.
(IT) Multiple cities need clowns due to the bombing of our incense tile.

I ship the Maya Iron, Spices, Gems, $995 and $132 / turn for Communism. I order an immediate revolt.
(IT) We take a really beating from the bombers. We are lucky that we didn't lose the infantry army.


1690 AD
I have NO choice but to sign peace with Egypt. We lost to many units to bombers. I don't have enough units to even try to kill the tanks inside the borders. Salt Island will fall shortly. 11 cavalry and 14 infantry (a lot in armies) don't cut it. I take $360 for peace before we have a cascading collapse of the whole empire.
(IT) Egypt is building SETI.

The price is frelling obscene, but I give Egypt Spices and $110/turn for coal. Now I get the joy of optimizing the monstrous empire again.

Summary:
I just hope 20 turns is enough to build up for the final try. As it is I fear Egypt will start tossing nukes soon.

I only played 5 turns, as we really need another site of eyes to optimize the empire.
The Secret Police HQ is due in 5. The final stock exchanges are due shortly. Outside of Wall Street we can't afford any buildings IMO. We are out of time and must build pure military. I hope we can start steal up to tanks by then, or this is futile.

Well they almost killed our armies, disconnected incense, etc. I really think the AI is most dangerous in the modern age if they get all the fun toys.
 
Building turns, mainly aqueducts/harbors. Our army is a bit better off. Wall Street in two turns. However, I am not sure how we can win this. Egypt has well over a hundred MI, three dozen tanks, and worst of all is this:

I would have reported stolen techs. My turns were worker movements, assigning city projects, and hitting spacebar. We haven't the money for steals, as all of the culture building maintenance plus gpt payments really dragged our gpt down, even at min science.
