Graphic features and other improvements

I‘m currently working on some stuff for new animation for our brave settlers. This postponed my work on new graphics a little bit, but it makes sence to do this now before work on new graphics needs to be done twice. I make good progress and hope to present some new stuff soon.

Time to present a few new units: Fireworker, Charcoal Burner and Confectioner have arrived in the New World.

Hm, for me they have all the same size. Of course, not exactly, but there is no noticable difference. There is no real difference...weird. Hence, I currently do not intend to change something. You can adjust it in the unit.xml if you want.

@Schmiddie:
For some of the Units it is infact very notable.
(Especially in EuropeScreen)

See e.g. the size difference of the 3D Unit graphic here:

The 2D Europe Grafik / City Graphic is fine again however:

Ah ok, please send me screenshots when you notice that because that is something that cannot be tested before implementation - only if you are lucky to see such unit on the screen.

Since those are the 3D graphics (also used on the Map) you can also simply test it on the Map by placing them next to a normal Colonist.
You will see in comparison to that normal Colonist if they are a bit too small or too big. :thumbsup:

As I said, the 2D graphics seem to be fine. :)

Yes and no. I do always compare them on the map. And on the map they have all the same size! Therefore it does not really help you to compare them on the map when you intend to get the same size for Europe (more or less). But you have 2 possibilites to adjust them - which also have influence on each other. This makes it more challenging to find the best size for Europe. Unfortunately it is a little bit trial and error.

Trust me, you can see it on the map if you place other Units for comparison. :)
(see first picture)

Before the Unit is recruited in the Queue it is the same 3D graphic as on the Map.
If it is too small on the Map it is also too small in Europe (and vice versa).

Of course this can be handled by simply adjusting XML of ArtDef a bit.
(Once discovered it is easy to correct again.)

-----

By the way, I checked all of them now. :thumbsup:
(Just a quick check though.)

And the only other graphic I feel that needs to be a bit increased is the "Master Herder".
(see second picture)

Maybe also the "Great Statesman" and the "Emigrant" a tiny bit.
(But they are still in "ok" range, althoug a bit smaller than some other experts.)

Ray, I know all that. That is not my first modding session. ;) All graphics I implemented are well balanced on the map. However, not all...don't know why the household goods trader is currently smaller than the others. But this is the only one. I will change that. But at first it sounded like "several" were different sizes. But that is not true - I have currently not completed the change of graphics. The ones which have currently different sizes will be changed completely. But that needs some time and will not be done over night.

I will adjust them. I can also adjust the statesman and emigrant. Maybe it helps

I know, sorry for explaining needlessly. :thumbsup:

For graphics other than the "Householder Trader" and maybe "Expert Herder", the difference of 3D graphics seems ok. :thumbsup:
(At least I have not seen any other yet in my quick testing.)
But that needs some time and will not be done over night.
Perfectly fine - just tried to support with explaining what @Mr. ZorG may have noticed. :thumbsup:

Otherwise:

@Mr. ZorG

Please be specific with your reports. If you find an issue do not just write "some ...". ;)
Next time please post a screenshot and name the specific Unit you talk about - it saves us a lot of useless discussion.
