Hi Sar - I hope one question you all will address at some point in a livestream/FAQ/post is in regards to how the modding structure is set up. Is it like Civ 6 with XML/SQL/Lua modding capabilities? Has an effort been made to expose more game systems to modding capabilities? Does Firaxis hope to see an even more robust modding community around Civ 7 than was present in Civ 6?
I know it's early days yet, but for many of us Civ is a modding sandbox as much as a game sandbox, so getting any sense of what those toolsets will look like would be super awesome.
Are buildings and improvements from a previous age going to be flat-out demolished and replaced if they become redundant in the new age? Or is it more the case of repurpose? In Civ 6 for example the city walls lost relevance when modern combat units appear but they then add to a civ's culture score. Can we expect a similar mechanic in VII?
Small question. What happens to city names after an era ends and a new civ is adopted? Would a capital’s name change to the new civ’s capital? Would it stay the same? If a Rome founds Londinium would it change to London if we happen to end up as England in a later age?
So according to Ed Beach’s interview with the BBC, the idea of Roman Londinium developing through the Middle Ages into the modern era was one of the key inspirations for Civ 7, with Ed talking about seeing maps of how parts of the city retained, for example, their religious character, while others were transformed completely.
I suspect city names will change with your civilisation - the scale of the cities in Civ 7 means there is likely to be relatively few of them compared with Civ 4 or Civ 5. Also it is nearly always the case that your original capital and earliest settlements remain the most powerful throughout the game (although the eras and crisis mechanics could change that). So it would be weird for an American civ in the modern age to have Tikal or whatever as its metropolis.
But most culture transitions are not going to lend themselves to such natural developments as Londonium - London. Besides, I would place Londinium quite far down the Roman city list!
How much has the AI improved and in which areas specifically?
While working on the new game, did the devs take any inspiration from popular modifications?
It would appear so, but it was so nice to have something to watch and then rewatch and overanalyse... Though I get it if the Game Guide is more of a controlled flow of information.
I doubt that in this day and age, they would only have things to read on a website. Surely, they'll show of the civs in videos or social media posts again. Even if some of them are already on the website now.

I'm sure they will still have introductory videos. I think the mechanical description of the civs will be given on the website and subject to change, while the videos will be more of a thematic introduction.
We already have them, though I suppose you mean Civ VII?
I doubt it considering we already know about the information of several civs on the home page, some of which weren't even covered in the showcase (the Maya for example).
