First Civ 7 developer livestream happening September 12!

1) Will there be multiple leaders per civilization in the base game or in future expansions?

2) Will there be any civilizations without a matching leader in the base game or in future expansions?

3.1) Will there be an option in the main menu to play games only in one specific Age, without being forced to advance to later Ages? For instance, can I start a game in the Exploration Age and stay there for as long as a want to, without the need to progress to the Modern Age?

3.2) If yes, then there is an additional question, will some victories be tied to specific Ages? For instance, can I win a scientific victory in the Antiquity Age?

4) Will there be a limit on the number of AI players per game or Age?

5) Will any civilization have more than one exclusive wonder?

2) Will there be any civilizations without a matching leader in the base game or in future expansions?

The Deluxe and Founders edition list post-release content, which contains more civilizations than it does leaders. Therefore either there are/will be civilizations without matching leader, or there are currently duplicate leaders for civilizations, which will later be given to other civilizations. The former seems much more likely to me.

Yup. They already talked about that - you can play a game of a single Age.

Hey all! Wanted to give a thanks from our whole dev team for tuning in, and also those that couldn't make it live, you can watch the full stream here at any time!

Here are some helpful links to what's new:
We've also got plenty more to cover! You can expect more info on game mechanics and features from our Developer Diaries, Game Guides, and Civ socials. And, stay posted for future livestreams with special guests and deep-dives into the Exploration & Modern Ages.

PS; Another thank you to everyone who left questions for our devs. There'll be more opportunities for future Q&As, and as always, I'm here as your CM to answer what I can🧡

I think their question is more like, would you be able to keep playing the game, like how you can do in a civ 6 game even after someone has a victory or the turn limit is reached, as long as you weren't defeated, even if you do a just antiquity age game? That specific information isn't available yet, I think.

Additionally, I wonder if there is a crisis on Antiquity or Exploration if you play just the age, or if then it works like a full game where last age has no crisis but victory conditions instead.

The developer diary on Ages was interesting. Overall I agree with all the reasons for doing age transitions and adding new abilities to your civ in each age to stay relevant, I just don't love the names of all the civs changing with each age (even if the leader remains). Still, I think it will be fun.

2. Is the jersey color system coming back?
I was thinking about that too, and I believe the answer is no. In the livestream both Rome and Maurya have a purple base colour (Rome's is lighter, Maurya's is darker). In Civ6's jersey system they'd both have the same shade of purple and one of them would have to change

Two questions for consideration:

1. What is happening on the unexplored portion of the map during the Antiquity Age? Are there other civilizations basically playing a parallel game in the background?

2. Is the jersey color system coming back?

Hoping the livestream answered question #1!

As for question #2, the jersey color system won't be incorporated at launch, but it's something the team may take another look at post-launch :)

Yep, caught the answer to #1 during the stream!

And thanks for coming back to clarify point #2! :) I’m glad to hear that they may be taking another look at it, because I hope to see jerseys return. It was a neat and fun little way to add a bit more visual flair and customization.

Now I have more questions about that green and red Norman banner? I also thought we've seen a Roman banner with red too.

Colours seem to carry on into the next civ you transition into. So when Rome changed to Normandy in the livestream they kept the colours. That Norman green and red we saw was most probably an Antiquity civ jersey (one that hasn't been revealed yet, because none of the civs in the livestream had those colours)

But wouldn't that mean that we'd never see the colors of Exploration Age and Modern Age civilizations in a normal game? That would be a terrible design. I sure hope it doesn't work that way.

My theory is that jersey colours are more attached to leaders, not nations, just like in 6.

I also think Jersey Color system is in.

The combination we saw in the livestream was valid in Civ 6. As long as the primary and secondary colors are not the same, you can have multiple shades of it (there's usually a light, mid and dark tone of each color).

Sar just said the jersey system won't be in at launch.

While we’re asking questions, are we allowed to know if the Legacy Paths (build 7 wonders, have 12 settlements, import 25 resources etc) are the same victory conditions for the Antiquity age? I would presume so but there’s been heated discussion on that front.

The jersey system might not be in, but each leader/civilization had more than one color available before the jersey system was introduced. I expect that to be true in VII, too.

I agree because leaders are for the whole game and we saw that the colors did not change after age transition. I think if you play as Augustus you will have the Rome colors the whole game but if you play as Napoleon you will have French colors even if you were starting as Rome. It makes sense because at any point in the game, no matter what age, you can look at an AI city flag and know who their leader is which is important because you develop relationships (alliances, rivalry) with the leaders.
