Greetings!

I am a new Community Manager for 2K Games. My name is Greg, and I'll be focusing on the Civilization community. I'm working with 2K Elizabeth.

I've been a part of this community for some time under the name OverloadUT; some of you may recognize me from the Pitboss forums.

I look forward to working with all of you to bring you information about Civilization 5, find out what features you'd most like to hear about, and address your concerns!

Welcome! I look forward to your input in the threads here! :)

Welcome Greg :).

Not a good time for a begin, i have to say :/.

Quite the contrary, I think it's probably the perfect time for him to start.

I promised you guys that there would be a dedicated person for Civ, and that you are going to get a lot of cool stuff - Greg's going to help make that a reality.

Welcome! Wouldn't want to be in your shoes here though, there's probably a mob already forming to crucify you over STEAM ARGH!!!, hehe.

Hi Greg! :)

Don't be afraid, the crucification thing is only done by a vocal minority here. ;) (I am pretty sure you will soon be able to seperate the one side from the other side :D )

The majority here just seems to be interested in adressing questions and - maybe - concerns and surely hopes for some helpful and clarifying answers.

So once again, welcome! :)

hey dude and welcome...I would like to know that if I have any problems with the new Civ 5 that r steam related that 2K will handle it instead of steam people. they have shown me that they r not interested in helping the customer, only themselves.

What does 2k plan to do about poor customer service that is experienced from steam...and is it even a concern for 2K?

plesniak, be so respectfull and let this stay a "welcome" thread.
Discuss can we everywhere else.

That's what i've meant ;).

That's definitely a concern of ours - if you ever have a problem with Steam and a 2K title, contact me or Greg directly and we'll help you out.

plesniak, rest assured I will be doing my best to address as many concerns as I am able in the respective threads. I am currently working on a large Steam/Steamworks FAQ to address the most commonly asked questions and expressed concerns. I hope to clear up some of the misinformation and speculation with it.

I've personally found the Steam service to be of very high standard - although I have never had any support issues relating to 2k games, I'm confident that this will be consistent.

This sounds like great news, Greg.

If you don't mind, we might fill this thread here with some links to questions which are currently under discussion or where we are missing reliable answers.

Or would you prefer (for easier detection) to have new threads opened with you being adressed in the title?

I am glad to hear that u guys r at least taking the bad experiences that ppl have had with steam seriously(unlike steam). I look forward to reading some of the FAQs regarding steam...hopefully steam will read them as well.

Good grief!! My message is polite and welcoming.

I created a new thread here for precisely this purpose (thanks for the idea!)

Hi Greg, welcome to the CivFanatics forums.
Other than our insatiable hunger for info on planned Civ5 mechanics, I think the biggest thing we'd like to hear about is modability.

How will modding work in Civ5? Will it be basically similar to Civ4, except for the addition of a central mod handling system and the move to lua?

How will modding interact with Firaxis/2k intellectual property, such as the "bonus content" from the deluxe edition and any further DLC (if this exists)?

Will these files be "locked" somehow, rather than being easily accessible?

Thanks for any info you can provide.

Greg, what distribution methods will CivV be done in? We all know Steam (I pre-ordered), but will there be a deluxe packaged version released? I've got plenty of shelf space! Joseph

are you another marketing person ?

No, from the post record assisted with the OverloadUT account he mentions it looks like he is a Civ player presumably Multi-player as he made/ran a website/tool for viewing data from a Pitboss game without needing to open Civ4. It's good to see that 2K hired someone who is a civ fan and a member of the community rather then some marketing hack, good luck to you Greg.
