Guess the Map IV: A Thousand Cries for "Hint Please!"

Is it a scale or different categories?

Average poo colour.

EDIT: think about it - it makes sense !

So is Thailand #1?

Most recorded reigns?

Wouldn't red be first?

It's a continuous scale, so Thailand is either #1 or #last

So is Thailand #1?

There is nothing inherently better or worse about being at either end of the scale (or any other location). It is an outlier, though. Most of the world is at the other end, making it the logical starting place.

Eh, if you play funny with the other commonwealth countries, length of monarch reign works.

Thailand, followed by the UK, Australia, Canada and New Zealand, followed by the rest of the commonwealth countries since Elizabeth would have become the monarch on their independence.

looks like it. Japan, Norway and Iran all have head of states that are in place since around 1990. So the answer would be non-democratic elected head of states (not monarchs: Iran, Libya, ...) The problem here is then though if you can call for example Mugabe in Zimbabwe democratically elected... Then again, he has a rather political role something which King Harald of Norway does not (but Khomeini in Iran does again). So, the map seems rather pointless as the category is not really clear as their definition varies over the cultures, but stays technically the same ("de facto head of state").

It works for democratic heads of state as well. (link)

Legend:

1940s
1950s
1960s
1971 - 1985
1985 - 1991
1991 - 2000
2000 - 2005
After 2005

A few are a bit off, but the general idea should be correct.

And the map isn't pointless. A head of state is not necessarily the political leader.

That's the point. It's a nominal title that changes depending on the state. Our state of head changes every year by definition (Switzerland), they have representative tasks (monarchs), but may be political leaders (Iran), in many African states they are just the strong men. I worded it wrongly, the map does make sense, from a technical point of view. But it doesn't offer up much insight into the working since there is so much variation. It also doesn't say anthing about stability either...

But yeah I got it wrong, I first thought the light brown category was the not applicable category..
