Guess the Map V: A Map is Worth a Thousand Words

I don't think I've ever seen a map here with the Faroe Islands coloured in! Neeto.

I'm thinking the map is historic rather than current. Would explain Ireland being whole while Wales, Scotland and England are all separate. Channel islands too.

Archaeological sites of some sort?

It is to do with a past time you do sitting down (and russia is best at it).
