To be fair, I do hate reality shows.Bozo Erectus said:Come on, get into the spirit of it. Its like a reality show.
CNN's got a smoke cam.MarineCorps said:I missed the smoke. I was hoping to be able to see history. Damn. I just had to take a shower...![]()
Its like Survivor, they went to an island, and only one came out the winner. Only we dont get to see what happens on the island, or the voting. Sounds like a pretty sucky show actuallyMathilda said:
Don't watch the stuff, but isn't there supposed be an audience vote?
And I'm glad!Taliesin said:Cardinal Ouellet: 60-1
Cardinal Turcotte: 80-1
But given how quick the election was, I'm guessing it wasn't either of them, both being touted as "compromise" candidates possibly to be selected in the case of a standoff between more popular papabiles.
Yeah, think of the amount of money they could have raised if they'd sold the rights to a production company. Someone could have added a bit of drama into this.Bozo Erectus said:Its like Survivor, they went to an island, and only one came out the winner. Really? I was under the impression that at least one of them (Ouellet, I think), was rather liberal.De Lorimier said:And I'm glad!
We don't need a pope from Québec to bring us back to the dark times before the Quiet Revolution. Turcotte and Ouellette are conservatives morons and are almost irrelevant in today's Québec. I don't want this to change.
drama is easy to add. i read somewhere that any cardinal caught talking to an "outsider" about this whole thing gets excommunicated from the church. talk about drama.Mathilda said:Yeah, think of the amount of money they could have raised if they'd sold the rights to a production company. Ouellet has called the Quiet Revolution a mistake and thinks it went too far regarding the place religion should take in Québec. He's also very vocal against gays and civil unions, separation of Church and State and centralization of the Church (under his guidance).Taliesin said:Really?
